The trouble is La Boheme, I know for a fact there are people on here who are dyslexic and who really have to psyche themselves up to post on here. My comment was really for them. It's just not kind.... you really don't know who you could be criticising.

It's almost like suggesting that people should have a minimum standard of literacy to post. These boards are for everyone regardless of how well they spell or what language they speak.

I hope you take that comment in the constructive and positive way it is intended.

That happened to me when I came back from a year living in a non-English speaking country... I'd seemingly forgotten how English grammar - and spelling - worked... I've just about got back to a basic level of English, I think...

The important thing is what you say, not how you spell it or what grammar you use! We are all here to talk about SCD!

Thanks, Wiz.

I just get a bit irked by my own inability to write correctly sometimes. For me, because I can type pretty quickly, I tend to type faster than my brain works, which means words either come out literally, or the first version of a word which my brain has sent to my paws gets typed before said brain has had a chance to think "hang on a minute".

On a broader note, I don't think the endemic use of computer keyboards and mobile phones are doing anyone any favours when it comes to be able to spell correctly or use proper, if any punctuation.

Well I'm dyslexic so I learnt all the words I was ever un-certain about off by heart, and it can be over-come.

I take your comments in the way they're intended, I just disagree, but I have no personal beef with you. I would always prefer to have my spelling corrected so I get it right next time. Some people have a gripe with bad spelling, and some people have a gripe with those who correct bad spelling. I'm the former you're the latter. So why don't we agree to disagree?

No, I'm not watching. No Brendan and Kelly. No Gethin and Camilla. Thank my stars I have a good excuse not to watch! I'm off to a Greek theme party, men in black with red cummerbunds and women in black and red with bling (fake ). Oh, where did I put my tiara then? Not very Greek

Oh, and if I've spelt cummerbund wrong, can I take my SCD forum spelling and grammar exam after Christmas please sir/missus? Especially as English is not my first language - which could be the case with other posters' bad spelling/grammar perhaps

I know this is off topic but I`am tempted to enroll on an English course in order to relearn the correct use of grammar.I post on several Car and Motorbike forums and I`am always impressed by the very high standard of English that many posters have and their reviews of the latest bike or car often read like they have been written by a professional critic. My own comments just never seem to flow like those of the best reviewers.

I salute you for tackling dyslexia, but don't think everyone finds it that easy! We shall agree to disagree!

I will be glued to the SCD final and voting like mad for Alesha and Matt and keeping my fingers crossed that the Sky + does its thing with the SCD things over Christmas as we will be in Spain................

I will be away, but will set the recorder, the advantage of that is I can fast forward Matt's performances and all the other bits I am not interested in, I was not a particular fan of Alesha, but now I hope she wins.

Just a thought - if you have Firefox rather than IE, you can download a spellchecker which underlines anything you spell incorrectly in boxes on the internet (though "Gethin" and "Alesha" do come up as mis-spelled...).

I use the abc icon in my message reply toolbar.

Other peoples spelling doesn't bother me, as long as it makes sense
