All Gethin fans must be feeling really disappointed but we can turn this around by voting for Alesha. Tip, tape scd next week and you will not have to stomach Matt's smugness or pathetic dances just watch the rest of the show. By the way do not forget the important part, Alesha lifting the trophey.

But that's what the judges want me to do

Der Chef says

No hope

After she made that disparaging "competing against two good looking boys remark"

Ohhh Yeah

Surely those of us who are neutral should be voting for the best dance(r) on the night? If Matt doesn't get stage fright then I'm sure he will be in with a very good chance of winning and will need our impartial votes as well.

"If Matt doesn't get stage fright"

Don't any of the other competitors suffer from nerves then?
They do, but they don't fuss and make a song and dance about it and give in to it. They have showed guts.

Matt should have been out last week based on his lousy performance. The whole thing must be fixed imo.

Look at it this way, if Matt is second to Alesha, then Gethin is THIRD (behind Matt).

If Matt wins, at least you can say: Ah well, Gethin could be second!

But I more sure at this juncture (without seeing the dancing on the night yet) Alesha would win. Therefore Gethin is THIRD.

Tough luck to the (less mature) so-called Gethin's fans...

Go and watch it again and really listen this time to the question

Gethin fans can do what they want. I think a thread like this is tacky so soon after the result.

How can Alesha winning turn it around for Gethin fans? I mean, serious question, did you think it through before you posted?

here here

i think gethin who comes across as a courteous and open minded and generous person would be thoroughly ashamed at the behaviour of some of his "fans"

he knows how to lose with grace and dignity - maybe they should take a leaf from his book

Yeah, I couldn't believe a wholesome BP presenter with such a beautiful personality could attract such 'fans'. You should see the BBC forum thread of these so-called Gethin fans crucifying Matt (and his fans). It was beyond vulgar. Bullies are attracted to wholesome Gethin. I don't get it?

I will be recording the final as I am away and I will be fast forwarding Matt's performances, I don't want to see that smug face. I hope Alesha does win, but I will not be voting, have spent enough on phone calls this series.

That's a good point.

I think a lot of the so-called "fans" of each of tonight's couples could learn a lot from the dignity and mutual respect that each of their respective favourites has shown.

Absolutely.

If Gethin fans want to vote for her - great! All votes happily accepted! But frankly they can do whatever they want. If Alesha had gone I probably would have voted for Gethin but I'm sure some would have voted for Matt and some would not have voted at all. I don't think the fan base will do something on mass because one person thinks it's right.

me either I just don't get this hatredI mean no-ones dead, Matt didn't murder anyone, he isn't responsible for the ills of the world and yet I feel that some people posting would genuinely like harm to befall him if it meant that Gethin could dance in the final

very very sad imho

I think that's an utterly unfair generalisation tbh. Who knows how other fanbases may have reacted had their favourite gone out? Emotions always run high this time of year and I don't begrudge Gethin fans a highly emotional response. Most have reacted with as much dignity as their man and I'm sure it'll all calm down tomorrow. Had Matt or Alesha gone I'm sure you would have seen just as extreme reactions.

Quite. If Alesha had gone I won't have voted. People should vote for who they want. People on here are only a tiny percentage of the voting public, anyway.

Matt and Gethin have been great friends this series and Matt's family were among the first in the standing ovation when Gethin was eliminated.

I can see no reason why people who were supporting Gethin should not vote for Matt (or if they prefer, Alesha).

All the couples have a few rancid fans

There ARE a lot of sensible Gethin fans. I call them the genuine ones. They are normally more matured and don't resort to bitching and name calling. Those so-called 'juvenile' fans are terrible. I haven't seen much of Matt's fans slagging Gethin last week here in this forum. And don't even let me start on the BBC forum. I regretted visiting the forum there. It's like a war-zone... It doesn't take long for one to realise who started the 'war'...

Maybe they're Blue Peter fans - in other words kids. Surely only kids would behave like this?

vote for whoever's dance you enjoy the most, is the obvious answer

its not all gethin fans by any stroke of the imagination just a few who do seem to be of the younger variety judging by their posts

and I'm sure there would have been some headbangers amongst other fans if their fave had been eliminated

but the vitriol directed towards matt who did nothing but dance his best and get saved by the judges is really unpleasant

hopefully it will all calm down tomorrow as you say
