I have barely looked at it because it is such a mess. It's poorly moderated and not even open all hours. I'd be surprised if they bothered with it next year - far more trouble than it's worth!

Seriously, not as enamoured with an Aleesha v Matt final as I would have been Aleesha v Gethin, but Matt is not a shoddy dancer by any stretch of the imagination and it should still be entertaining.

I'm intrigued - why would you say most improved is more deserving of a win than overall talent? Jill was a great example - I would certainly say she deserved to win over, say, Julian's improvement. Personally I thought Colin's overall talent should have won over Darren's improvement.
I suppose as a teacher I am geared to look at overall achievement. Kids that improve are fantastic and good on them but never would I say they deserve better grades or more compliments than the kids who are consistently good and naturally skilled.

I won't be voting for the winner of SCD 2007. I think Alesha will walk it. She has sufficient fans to get her through and is a worthy winner. Not voting is the only way I have of protesting against the unfair dance off which has blighted most of this series.

I have seen many pupils (not in ballroom) work hard and become very good within a few weeks but never get any better
I have seen pupils who have struggled for months to get to the same standard (because it did not come natural to them) , these were the pupils who had the passion and the love of their discipline and ended up surpassing the former better pupils who only had a passion and love of winning

But in this case I don't believe Matt has surpassed Alesha. She still is the better dancer of the two and he can be her equal but has never out done her imo. Tbh too I think Gethin was the improver. Matt has always been good and he's been up and down depending upon his nerves any particular week and how much he likes the dance.

I would just like to say...
I am a Gethin fan, and have had a little cry about the result... (mostly because I am a huge Camilla fan) BUT I am NOT a sore loser and would like to say congratulations to Matt and Alesha for getting into the final.
Obviously my heart will no longer be in the final, but I would like to wish both Matt and Alesha the best of luck for next week. I'm not sure whether I will be capable of picking up the phone to vote, but I would like Alesha to win now.
Other fans... please don't paint all us Geth fans with the same brush, because as you can see from this, we aren't all the same!
