Sony Bravia
Final Score
16-12-2007
I went into commet to buy the new Sony Bravia 26 inch at £550 but the salesman told me the older version at £490 was a better TV. He told me something was 6000 about the older and new one was 1500, what did n mean? Is that a good tv by the way>?

First things first, if you were in Currys (Or whatever their calling themselves this week!) you dont listen to a word that comes out their stupid mouths! The idiot was most likely talking about the units contrast ratio, the later more newer models will no doubt be greater than the old one.

OK - let's offer a slightly more constructive reply.

Sony currently seem to have a plethora of different models in the market - check any major website Dixons / Amazon / Comet / John Lewis / Argos and you'll see a variety of sets at different prices. Some are old models, some are new. It's also possible that there is an older higher-specced model at the same price or cheaper than a more basic new model.

Why Sony have to make things so complicated is beyond me.

Best suggestion: get hold of both of the model numbers, take a look around the web - including the Sony website - to get full specs and then make your decision from there.

Just cos it's badged a Sony Bravia, doesn't mean you'll always be comparing like with like.

Can't you stretch to a 32" @ £699 ?

The KDL32D3000 is available for that now, was £1100 a few months ago and it will blow any of the sets they have in Comet back into outa space. You can get it for the price above with a 5yr warranty too!
