because she would have been absolutely devastated by getting knocked out at the final hurdle - and who the hell could possibly blame her!

everyone who dances on Strictly puts their whole heart and soul into it - and think of how it is for Camilla - she's been on the show for 5 years and this was probably one of the best chances she had to win.

how could anyone blame her (if that IS what happened) for locking herself in her dressing room and not wanting to socialise?

any one of the three in the semi final would have felt the same last night had they been ousted - but I really did feel for Camilla since I did feel it was perhaps her last chance - once they've given a pro a good partner onStrictly they often give them a less good one the next year........and she must be absolutely broken hearted.

Don't knock her, you idiot reporters! give her a break hey.”

She did the same last year I think when Ray got knocked out. Poor thing she must really be devastated

Those idiot and cold-hearted reporters should really start asking for Santa for a dosage of empathy in their xmas stockings!

I have to say I find the idea of her storming off unlikely - it just doesn't fit with her personality as we've seen it. She had hurt her shoulder and so was in pain, and was bitterly disappointed - and who wouldn't be, after two weeks riding high? She didn't look comfortable to me in the AT (I personally thought that Gethin looked better doing it) but that could be as much about the injury as unfamiliarity with the style. It can't have been easy, going back out with an injury to dance something she was less familiar with.

And as for not going to the party, she seems the type to keep her upset to herself. She would likely have thought she'd've been a downer on affairs.

Some random thoughts...

If Gethin hadn't had the breakthrough he had, being knocked out at this stage may have been much more bearable for Camilla. In the last 2 weeks they've attracted an increasingly sizeable following, became the bookies' favourite, got 6 tens and wowed the judges. To have it all snatched away in such an unusual manner - seeing Matt getting 40/40 - must have been heartbreaking. Think of what must have been going through her mind...

It all started with the criticism of the paso, but had things finished like that, they could have turned things around even from last place and a dance off as they were only a point below Matt and Flavia. Alesha getting 38 for her 2nd dance meant they were never going to be first, but hey ho, that never stopped them in the past. But Matt's 40 must have made them realise they had an uphill battle, so they knew they had to come out and dance a near-40 in the AT. Once the scores came in, they must have started working out the maths and sensed it was only a matter of time. There was always the chance of going through automatically if the voting was reversed, but as soon as that did not materialize there must have been a feeling of resignation, as Matt was never going to fall flat on his face. Listening to the judges waffle on for what seemed like forever must have been particularly hard, but they must have still held on to the possibility of Len using his casting vote in their favour.

I have so much respect for Gethin for how he dealt with it, stopping to congratulate Alesha and being gracious to the end. And for Camilla who was clearly heartbroken but still kept her composure.

We'll find out on saturday whether the judges made the "right" decision...

She went flying through the doors. That's all that I meant by "storming off". I wasn't talking about her being bitter about something.

I always wonder what would it be like if Camilla has someone in the likes of Mark Ramprakash or Colin Jackson...

This is the Sun - don't believe anything they write.

I'm just sorry some people are quite prepared to believe the stories they wrote about Matt!”

What makes you think the BBC is any more accurate with its news than the Sun. Both only "cherry pick" the bits they want or suit their current affiliations.

I think so too - she was almost in tears just before the announcement. So near, so far.

Not so - the BBC "cherry pick" the bits they want - that's called editing. The Sun simply write libellous stories and print lies. There's a world of difference.

Well it must be devestating, the two places I wouldn't want to exit are first and just before the final personally

I see DS have added the story now.

I don't think I have seen Camilla "livid" in five years so I can't see this being anymore them being upset.

As if she's not upset enough the papers decide they will start printing stories about her... surely this will make her even more upset - especially if she did go to the hospital about her injury etc. I don't like the sun

Does the Sun ever write true stories? They are notorious for making things up. I take everything in that rag with a pinch of salt.

As usual it seems they've taken what was there - Camilla upset and not wanting to socialise after - and turned it into something more dramatic which suits them better.

Of course she's going to be upset and it's hardly surprising if she wasn't in the party mood - I remember Lilia apparently crying for hours when she and Aled were knocked out in the semi!

Yes, that's exactly what it was. Are you being serious?

If you want to trade rhetorical questions, when was the BBC last sued for libel?

I'm note going to watch my recorded results show and frankly as much i've loved Alesha i'm not sure that i can be bothered to sttay with it. I really hope Matt proves my theory wrong by forgeting his routines in the final. Mind you he'll win then. Oh my mistake, he's already won the trophy hasn't he.

remember folks his waltz is now officially the greatest ever dance in open competition......ever.

Poor Camilla really felt for her last night was nearly in tears myself but the sun have probably exaggerated what happened.

Well the BBC has a Republican agenda; the Sun flogging newspapers. Both distort reality. The Queen is hardly likely to sue for libel is she? Am I being serious? - No

NOW the stupid DS forum put up the 'tantrums' as their headline as well (see above)!

Shameful!

I dont read the Sun but I wouldnt begrudge Camilla a strop anymore than I begrudge Gabby getting upset at going out early on .......... why shouldnt they ?
I'm so tired of our British attitude to play at good losing and voting for underdogs .

Agree She has never been given anybody with potential, I would love to see Camillia with somedody who could get her all the way, she has been there five years and never made the final yet saturday night she took getting knocked out with grace and elegance, I think Camillia seems like a lovely person and would love to see her in the final next year

I wouldn't begrudge her it either, however I'd be very surprised to hear that she really did it.

It's not about whether it's justified or not, it's a case of whether or not it's true.

A distortion of reality - there I agree.

Glad you're not serious - and back at you

To be honest, I really do think Camilla had her best chance with Gethin, who turned out to be a very credible contender for the final (and even the winner!). He just didn't do the 'right' dance on the semi-night. Paso is traditionally very difficult dance and only Mark pulled it off last year IMHO. Had he dance to, say, Waltz, the leaderboard positions might have been different...
