Leon won't get the Christmas Number 1-I just have a feeling...
I just have a feeling he won't do it. Has he got the charisma to carry it off? Will the sheep still go out and buy his somewhat bland version of the song? Well yes, but will it be enough to land him the coveted Christmas Number 1 slot?
I thought Rhydian should've won, he had the better voice and WYB suited his voice more, but it was nice to see the underdog win for a change. Leon loooked geniunely shocked-and actually embarassed-that he'd won it, whereas the look on Rhydian's face said it all, he'd even hinted at winning just before the result was announced! What do you think? |

He'll get it. Although Rhydian changed his singing style slightly to make it more contempary for the song, it still sounded better with Leon. Saying that, as someone who listened to the original a lot, it sounds weird to me when anyone other than Mariah and Whitney sing it.
I know people think Rhydian had the better voice, which is true, but Leon has won and it will work out better for Rhydian to be second as he wont have his career run by X-factor. I would hate for Rhydian to tell X-factor he wants to make music his way and be cut out of history ala Steve Brookstein. So the bitterness should stop, they have both won really, cliche as it sounds |

They are both brilliant in their own right. IMO Leon is the better X Factor winner as he is more suited to it, Rhydian's career will do better out of coming second anyway so all of the rhyd supports should stop being sour. |

Leon must have had hundreds of thousands of voters on Saturday, it would be very surprising if he couldn't convert enough of those to make #1.

I think you're right. He has no chance of #1, no chance of winning X factor, no chance of Kylie and Buble volunteering to sing with him or Celine picking him out as having a fantastic voice. I don't think he'll even make the final.

I don't think there is any doubt really. I wonder if his mum sings, a duet would make a cracker of a Mothers Day single. Then in 3 years time he can dance to it on Dancing On Ice.

Rhydian doesnt have a "better" voice he has a classically trained operatic style voice and some of you seem to be missing this here. Try getting him to sing normally and lets see how his voice sounds then! He wouldnt even have got in the final! Its not Opera/Musical factor you know!

What happened to that Strictly Come Dancing single that would have given Leon a run for his money

Ok well obviously I came across wrong, I just meant people might assume Rhyds voice is 'better' because he's had training, been doing it longer etc etc and yes like you say he is trained to sing acertain way. However my post is actually in support of Leon and says (or was meant to say) everything you have - that Rhydian will benefitmore by not being the winner

Wisely, Jackson's warm, manly tones aren't caked in too much production gloop: the percussion's relatively subtle, the strings are as tasteful as the Nigella Express kitchen, and the obligatory gospel choir doesn't swoop in until after the three minute mark - pretty restrained by X Factor winner's single standards. Most impressively of all, Jackson brings some real dignity to the song's anodyne lyrics, repaying the faith that the British public has placed in him.

![]() Leon has won and I wish him well. I honestly can't see a long career ahead for him, but I truly hope he makes the most of what comes his way. |

Of course he will get the Xmas No 1...........with an audience of around 10 million if he didn`t sell minimum of 300K there would be something seriously wrong. It will be interesting to compare his overall sales with Steve Brookstein and Shayne Ward though(I won`t say Leona because her sales were exceptional.......she already had 50K downloads by half past midnight on the Sunday after her win)
