Seeing all the vote Matt and vote Alesha threads i wondered if anyone voted based on their fave pro for example, i realise that Alesha is best celeb but Flavia is my overall dancer so i will vote for her and Matt (in fact i probably wont vote at all but thats who i would prefer to see win).

Anyone else? If you did vote this way who would have won the series for you?

We did because my daughter's favourite was Camilla so we voted for her and Gethin throughout the whole series.

I usually like to see the originals do well although most fell fairly early and Brendan pulled out. I did put in a few votes to help Camilla I have to admit.

I vote on my fav couple from day one and that has always been A&M, plus Alesha is a better dancer then Matt, I like him, and he has got talent, but Alesha dances for me have been so much better, also I do vote on personality and who makes me laugh, and Alesha really does make me laugh I luv her

Every year I have watched the show I vote and support the dancer I think deserves it. This year I have been blessed because I also greatly admire Alesha's professional partner, Matthew, who has helped Alesha to become the wonderful dancer that she is.

Apart from the dancing they are both so nice to look at together and their personalities seem to complement each other.

Alesha said that the best christmas present she can give to Matthew is to win the competition and I truly hope she achieves her wish.

I have had a favourite pro since series 3 - Matt Cutler - but last year I voted for Ramps and got to like Karen because she was his partner, and the year before I voted for Colin and ended up really liking Erin as his partner. Liked Denise the year before which spilled over to Ian.. that's how it usually works for me. However this year has been really special for me - Alesha was my favourite celeb from the outset so it's been a huge, huge bonus she's been paired with my favourite pro!

Does anyone carry on dislikes of the pros from previous series?

I can't bear Brendan because of the treatment he gave some of his previous celebs.
James for his treatment of Georgina last series.
Karen annoyed me in series 3 with all her begging for votes.
Lilia and Ian: I'm not 100% sure why I don't like them but they make my teeth itch.

Love Erin, Anton, Vincent and Ola all for different reasons. The others I am pretty neutral about.

I have just read through my post and made myself laugh about how much I thought and emotion I invest in Strictly each year!!! I can't believe how strongly I feel about some of the pros considering I or anyone I know have never even met any of them.

I don't like Brendan and often wonder what would have happened had he been paired with Alesha. I've never been a huge fan of Camilla and I would have liked Gethin a lot more had he been paired with Karen, for e.g.

Did you vote for him and Fiona Phillips just to keep her in and annoy him some more? I did!

That was tempting but I just wanted him off my telly!

I don't dislike any of them there are some I know better then others. Karen annoys me I have to say but generally they all seem decent people.

I know what you mean. All the others could do an amazing wow, 4 10's dance and I would probably put my dislike of them away to one side and vote for them, except him. I know he is popular with some, I just can't see in him what they do.

I have done in the past, but Matthew and Flavia (along with Erin!) are my favourite pros in the series, so I can't pick now! I'm so glad one of them will win!!

I love all the pros though (yes, even Karen. A bit.) I love Craig for praising them all yesterday. I admore them all so much, they make the show for me.

nope i never vote for my fav professional. Lilia is probably my favourite professional overall but i didnt like Dom so i couldnt bring myself to support them.

Very guilty of that one. I'm not a Brendan fan at all, I tend not to really like his routines that much, with a few exceptions, and I'm afraid that does tend to colour my views of the celeb he's with, I'm just not going to support them - ridiculous and unfair, but sadly true

If I really like a pro it does tend to make it easier for me to like the celeb their with, especially if I don't know at lot about them, but I've never voted for the pro, I'ver more gone with the partnership I like.

I have been known to vote for a favourite pro especially early on before the celebs have "grabbed" me and if they have a celeb who I think has potential and I'd like to see continue, but generally I vote for the best (IMO, obviously!) dancers/partnerships. And I wouldn't vote for a pro if their celeb was lousy or didn't deserve to be in over better dancers. (ie I like Lilia, but would not have voted for Dom this time round: last year loved Matthew and Carol but didn't vote for them beyond once or twice because I preferred Mark and Karen's dancing and partnership and couldn't afford to have two favourites to vote for!)

I think a good celeb can make me change my mind about a pro to a certain extent. The first show I watched live this year was Jive/Tango, and if I had felt the need to vote then Kelly's Tango would've come second to Alesha's Jive because I really enjoyed it, even though I find Brendan a bit annoying - it really suited them IMO.

I feel mostly the same as you, except I adore Karen but dislike Darren.

The problem with Brendan's routines is that it always seems like he choreographs them to show off himself (e.g. Fiona's jive) instead of catering to the celeb's strengths. Valid complaint there! This year he got lucky in that Kelly could keep up with him, but he seems to have little intention of slowing down a bit to match the celeb instead (e.g. Anton with Kate).

I'm ashamed to say I do vote for my fave pro dancer, but I think there's a limit.. If I knew they didn't have the slightest chance of winning, I would vote in the first couple of weeks, but not after.

My friend text me today saying 'Awww Gethin went out' (being a Geth and Camilla fan) and I replied with 'I'm not too bothered about Geth going out... just Camilla' which proves a certain number of votes are definitely for the pros!

So lucky cos my favourite pro (MC) has been paired up with my favourite celeb (AD) and I always loved her from years ago with Mis Teeq (not Mis Teeq........just her.........loved her MCing dance hall stylie......tried to copy it........it wasn't pretty)

(and by 'MCing' I mean 'emcee'ing not 'Matt Cutler'ing )

So happy cos Matt Cutler has finally let the forcefield down just a little bit (just a little bit, cos he wouldn't want to let us in on too much ) and people might see how sensitive and sweet and supportive and sexy and funny he is. In other series very few SCD watchers seemed to rate him at all which made me sad because he's a sensational dancer.

My favourite professionals are Darren, Ian and Matthew C with Lilia, Karen and Camilla not far behind. The celebs that attach to these professionals have a head start for my vote but that tends to change after the first couple of weeks of dancing and ITT and by that time I have usually decided which of the celebs I am supporting, their partner becomes irrelevant by that point.

For example I don't really like Vincent particularly but last year supported Louisa like mad.

I do always feel for my faves when they go out or get bad partners, Ian, Karen and Lilia all went out early this year as a result of unpopular/untalented dancers and I missed them a lot but not enough to vote for them.

gems: I think a lot of people do the same as you, I am sure it accounts for some of Kate's longevity for instance!

I think Matt was unfortunate to go out first in S3 and last year he and Carol didn't really get to shine on ITT much, CarolCam did introduce a lot of people to his sense of humour thanks to Carol though but it very cool that he has been able to really shine with Alesha *does happy dance*

I usually choose who to support based primarily on the celebrity and their ability and potential, and then secondarily on their partnership with their pro. But as with you Geisha, I'm very lucky this year in that my favourite celebrity is paired with my favourite pro. Could not have asked for a better partnership!

Oh I hate being at the bottom.....I somehow I end up there a LOT....so I'm moving to the top >>>
