I noticed it on that night. It was so obvious. I thought mobile MUST be banned in the live show? What would happen if any of the audience' phone ring during the show? It's not professional if she did bring hers to the studio, whatever the reason. As the judges kept saying, rules are rules.

made me laugh i noticed it on the night - the look on Arlenes face was one of pure shock!!!! maybe she was voting for Same Difference on X Factor??

I didn't notice it but after re-watching it, it's obvious something was going on.

Give the mobile to a runner off-camera to watch it for her if that is the case.
What would she realistically do for the ill person that can't wait until the show ends? If they're that ill that she's that worried about them then one would imagine she'd be at their bedside and skipping the show altogether

I noticed it and had a chuckle, but was suprised that she had it with her. I'd have thought she's have locked her handbag away in the dressing room.
All i am trying to say is there could be a perfectly good reason about her using that mobile... And maybe its no laughing matter at all.

I don't think she even was "using" it. It looked to me as though she'd forgotten to switch it off. She seemed horrified when it went off and it looked as though she just switched it off and then got back to the show.

Just watched th eclip on YouTube and it is so funny, kept going back to that bit.
Her face was a picture, not as funny as the way she tired to read it and act like nothing had happened, laughing with the other judges.
