Improvement quotient.

Divide the improvement made by the number of weeks they had to train and get the IQ.

Who has the highest?

I'm saying: not Alesha. As she is fab but not improved as much as say.....thingy-thing.

**thinks** I'll wait for someone else to reply to work out what to do.

On that basis, Penny, Letitia & Dominic all have higher IQs. Kenny Logan must have a MASSIVE IQ!

Often it's just as hard to maintain a very high standard as to show improvement from a low baseline. Alesha sets herself the highest standards, as does Matthew C, as far as I can tell. The number of hours they've trained prove that they lack complacency and work extremely hard to pull off a fab performance each week. Yes we like to see a journey but it doesn't always have to be the same old journey. People come on with varying degrees of competence and all improve. Then they often plateau - at their best. That is what Alesha has done, done well and to the best of her ability.

The girl is value for money, no question, and she's getting my vote on Saturday, quotient or not

Absolutely, mine too.

I am delighted that she and Matt are in the final two.

I have enjoyed all the others though. Gethin made great improvement over the last couple of weeks, though he was never a bad dancer there was something missing which he suddenly found, he can be proud!

I think Gethin will get one of the highest quotient. Just a hunch.

Alesha's has most bang for the buck. No, I am not speaking as if she's a hooker!

Reply to SCD - Hee hee - not as high as Kenny Logan! Who'd have thought he would have been able to perform as well as he did? Gethin was never a bad dancer, just not particularly charismatic - I am pleased he found the "wow" factor eventually and got to the final three.

as I've said before, I don't really care about improvement. Alesha has not done one bad dance, even those that have been below par have been better than anyone else's in the same discipline (perhaps one exception)

that's a pretty hard thing to do considering the best ever SCD celeb (Jill) had a few dodgy dances and everyone has at least one they don't connect with particularly

You'd have to have another scale for measuring Alesha's J-word.
I agree she started with star-quality and has maintained it. She is the best.

BUT (shoot me) I think she'd have done even better with another celeb. Darren?

Hard to improve on an already-high standard, I know.

I hate it when people think it's the one who has improved most who deserves to be in the final etc surely it's just a case of who dances best??

As a judge of dance I see competitors week in week out at the same competitions never once has any judge I know thought oh I will mark so and so first this time they have improved over the last time I saw them!

I don't know, Darren's a little too cute and cheesy (and she's too tall)

I think the partnership with matthew has added that little extra sparkle

Hard one to call do not know what Darren or Matt are like as teachers but Darren has done well with his partners and Matt has too - if it was on dance ability Darren not as good as Matt that is a fact

Oh ...... noooooooooo. Sorry to disagree ESPIONdansant, but Alesha and Matthew make a great couple. She would have towered over Darren. He would have been staring intently at her ribcage rather than deep into her liquid brown eyes, like Matthew does so well

So I think the IQ DOES matter.

People respond to that.

Darren Gough, yeah?

Is she really much taller than Daz?

I just think he is too NICE.

Brendan? Yes, Brendan and Alesha.

Perhaps that's what the OP was hoping for. Then she wouldn't have been competition for their beloved Kelly. Ridiculous suggestion

Alesha is the closest we have to a pro.

BUT if you favour the journey (witness the judges and their response to Matt - hey, we were waiting for him to screw up and he didn't!) then whose journey has been the most impressive?

This is the problem in the uk. Why do we need to reward improvement? When was it wrong to be good in the first place and keep the same high standard?

I bet if Alesha was an athlete some people wouldn't be making such a big deal out of her being consistant.
ESPIONdansant

...we imagine ourselves as competitors.

I am a very BAAAAAAD dancer despite having lessons.

But I'd like to think I could "get good".
Then I'd win!!!! Yay!

So it is partly the envy thing.

"That Alesha - she's just gorgeous and she's got experience."

I think that may be how it works in some ways...

Any wonder why the British don't do so well on the sports arena? Because they reward mediocre performances

Deffo Alesha has the dancing gift. Technique not yet perfected.

Perhaps we Brits just lurrrrve the underdog.

Hey, the loonies ain't gonna win. You know, the stompers and the stumblers.

So - who improved the most? Can't be the 1st 2 as they were only in it for a week...

I'm thinking Kenny. Gethin?
