Radio one ban for Leon?
They have only played it once today. That means they have listed it as C list.
Not really a very good start. |

It is'nt a radio 1 song, there is no way they would play that sort of song very often

If it were banned it wouldn't have been played at all. It isn't.
It was played twice last night when I was listening... lets just see how it goes. |

Meanwhile, Welsh radio has refused to play it!

Playlist is getting updated tomorrow so we'll have to wait and see ..
I'm predicting it'll get put on A-list though since it is looking likely to be Xmas #1 |

Yes they have played it today more than once, I heard it myself. It's been played on radio 2 as well. Give it a rest!
eta: and how does this relate to a 'ban' Misleading thread title. |

I'm still stunned by just how terrible a song it is - What was Simon cowell thinking with that dirge?!
I can't imagine many people will hear it and think "Wow, must rush out and buy that to complete my existence" - they'll just slip into a coma. |

Radio 1 dont generlly like reality show winners...Will Young has rarely got past C listing, I think Switch it On was one of the exceptions.

I remember a few years ago when Cliff Richard sung the Lords Prayer to Auld Lang Syne (sp) he had no airtime what so ever but still got the Christmas No 1 by the efforts of his fans , they only played it once or twice when it was No1

Probably not, Rhydian isn't very "Radio 1".

No, IMO Radio 1 is very indie centered so with that in mind, which would they play more. Ballad sung by normal voice or ballad by powerful operatic voice?

Most of the music on radio 1 blows anyway it's basically a station with overpaid Dj's with huge ego's.
It's the local stations imo have the real power all those offices and factories always have the local station on. |

Typical Radio 1 - they don't give Shayne Ward much air time either - probably just because he's an X-Factor winner, and disregarding the fact that he's as talented as anyone else in the business - well singing wise. If he could write his own stuff, he'd be the full package.
I doubt they'd have played Rhydian much either - he's not really their sort. |

It's a horrible song but then Rhydian's version was awful too.

Pretty ironic really when you consider that a lot of people on this forum have accused the Scots of petty nationalism.
