Thank you I've been trying to reason with the crazy fans in other threads but I think I was just wasting my time. I do feel a lot better after a long rant! It certainly is ironic that the 'tantrum' thread is turning out to be the most rational, civil and reasoned arguments though


Oh no, I totally agree. There are some Matt fans who are being very gloaty/insensitive etc - just as there are a minority of Gethin/Alesha fans who unfortunately give the whole group a bad name!

And Sarah, about the two-person final? Completely agree. ARGH.

I venture to guess they didn't change their 'contingency' plan because they pulled 6 million (?) votes from the viewers in last year's finals. The number of votes probably didn't suffer as a result of a two-person final so they don't really CARE for the welfare of the contestants this year even should there be a two-person finals again. It's just lazy of them not to think of a viable alternative...

Why cant they all wear the same size heels on their shoes ??

Then at least we could compare the footwork on a level footing - so to speak !

It`s not fair week after week that the men get to wear all the flat heels and the women have to suffer wearing 20inch heels!! <well Claudia does as we really get to see her footwork more than the dancers on a sat night because of the camera work>

It really bugs me that the BBC do not give out very many tickets to the public, and a lot are given to celebrities that have the smallest connection to the show and not to REAL fans of the show.. ie. have watched every single episode since series 1!

Too right. Relatives & friends & previous contestants are perfectly OK, but when you see people like Zoe Tyler in the audience for about 4 weeks running.....?

I don't understand why people are UTTERLY vitriolic about the judges and no-one bats an eyelid, but the minute anyone says anything bad about a celebrity, then they are personally attacked for their opinion! I know people feel there has been a lot of matt / alesha / gethin 'bashing' on this forum, but sometimes it feels as if no one is allowed to say anything even vaguely negative without a celebrity fan wading in. I just wish there could be some discussion and debate about how we feel without it turning into a forum of personal attack.

Does that make sense? I hope so. I love this forum when people can debate their opinions, even if they are at times rather passionate. i really appreciate it if people have an opinion which someone else disagrees with BASED ON THE RELEVANT ARGUEMENT - I hate it when someone's opinion is not debated but becomes a reason to slag off an entire group of fans!

P.S. that said, I think it's great that this forum does inspire so much passion, and we shouldn't discourage it! It's a testament to the programme that people respond so emotionally to the dancers, so I really am not knocking that.
