It is quite obvious that the powers that be including the judges do not really like the public voting at all unless, like the EU, they could make us vote and re vote until we get it right
They obviously do not trust us to place the three finalists in what they might think should be the given order.
I say, the people should have the say, as viewers and license payers even if we may get it 'wrong'. The public are always right used to be the old philosophy. I would pitch millions against a foursome any day

I'm sure as has been said that both Alesha and Gethin would have both gone through easily on a public vote.

alesha has certainly danced most consistentlyand matching her against gethin would have insured a fire cracker final , now its wether matt will fall lto pieces or not ,the judging this year has been appalling and the panel better make their minds up if they are seroius or wanto be celebrities instead ,example craigs ghastly singing on the 630 dancing show , last saturdays dance off was a disgrace matt stumbled twice and gethin did a far harder dance beautifully, head judge len seems to have deliberate blind spots and has reduced this years marking to a farce .only arlene had the guts to tell it how it was,instead of a tussle we can only look to an alesha coronation, no thrills in that, and len don,t make excuses which of course you will, you got it very wrong keep on like this and your crediblity and job will be on the line ,youve ripped the heart of of the show alesha was the star, gethin the apprentice what a final that might have been

i guess you are a gethin fan le taureau, but i disagree with the claim that gethin did a 'harder' dance because they both danced different dances which were well dances but i think you are wearing your rose coloured glasses because altough i also liked gethin, i though that matt's dance was danced more beautifuly-every body has the right to their opinion- and if len genuinley liked matts dance better, then its his choice..

Whether Gethin got the most votes isn't really the point. The facts we do know (Alesha got more votes than Matt) illustrate that any vote for Gethin was a wasted vote. Isn't that a con? How is it any different from running a competition where the winner has already been selected? I sincerely hope ofcom don't let THESE facts go unnoticed.

Matt's AT was inferior to Gethin's especially bearing in mind that Flavia is the champion. It was unfortunate for Gethin that he had two difficult dances and this should have been taken into account. If Gethin had done the waltz I think the result would be different.

I expect Len was taking Matt's age into account - he is only 20 when all said and done

At least Gethin took it like a gentleman and he is the winner in my eyes. I am fully behind Alesha now - I have liked her from the start.

And as for Len's pathetic references to Matt's age: him being the youngest should actually be an advantage, as far as stamina goes. Referring to it in the way Len does just makes it sound like Matt is ten or something - and tuns it into yet more biased hype.

Matt doesn't deserve this, and nor does Alesha. The producers are appalling. So are the judges. Then again, I suppose they have their tour to think of - and having the winner of Series 5 SCD would look good on the posters, wouldn't it?
