If the success of SCD should continue beyond Brucie's time, then I've always thought Anton would make a great host with his terrific sense of humour. Assuming by then, he's had enough of the dire celebrities he has to drag across the floor!

I find him corny but hes a stalwart from the beginning. The only people I would replace is Ten Goodman and Bruno.

I'm seriously considering whether it will be worth it to tune in next year, as this series I have really not enjoyed toward the end. I fast forward all Brucie's bits now, the VT's & the judging - so that leaves me with the dancing & the scores.
If Bruce is back next year & Craig gone (not bothered about Arlene tbh) it will be even worse, as Craig is the only one I sometimes listen to, (on my second time of watching).
I'm wondering if it's the ITT negative editing that has been putting me off some of the celeb's (Dominic, Kelly & Matt) & so spoiling my enjoyment of their dancing .
I loved DWTS & only fast forwarded the adverts, I even enjoyed it right up to the finals . So maybe if I was n't so saturated I would enjoy SCD again (ommitting ITT & watching the Sat & Sun show back-to-back later on Sun night).
I'm afraid no matter how much people support him I cannot bear to watch Bruce anymore, yes he was professional, funny & entertaining "back in the day" but for me no more. Quite frankly I feel embarrassed & uncomfortable watching him (which is why I no longer do). Just my opinion & I won't be swayed.

I think Bruce will host it till either he dies or the programm stops

I think having Bruce Forsyth as the presenter of the programme is the least of SCD's worries.

He's corny and sometimes awful, fluffs his stuff ever more frequently, but I'd still rather they got rid of Len, changed the format back, stopped with all the pseudo-drama before they ever started thinking about replacing him.

i hope bruce comes back as he is the cherry on the top of the cake for me. yes the show would survive without him but it would be a real shame.

And yet, the programme goes from strength to strength. 11 million viewers last Saturday night, possibly 12 million for the final. I've yet to see a response from a Bruce-basher to this somewhat uncomfortable hard evidence...

Possibly, just possibly, the Beeb know what they're doing, and so does Bruce?

That's a good one actually. O'Grady would bring humour into the show and not suck up to the judges. I also think he would give a lot of support to the contestants.

But I also agree with you that Brucie is effing great.

As stated in another thread - leave Brucie alone. He is great and one of the reasons, I enjoy the show. I would really miss him.

Bruce,s jokes are awful and embarrasing, anyone that has watched the US version will see that jokes are not required. Give the facts and let the dancing be the star!

Awww I like him, ok so his jokes are like really bad that a 6 year old could come up with, but for me him and Tess make the show as well as the dancers and the judges

Awww, I like the "See them coming a mile off" jokes - it's part of the charm of the show. It's called being tongue-in-cheek, you know?

DWTS is a great show - better than SCD in some ways - but it's a different culture. What works there won't always work here.

Again, the show is more successful each year - why are people so keen to drop one of the key people making it so successful? Are you all nuts, or what?

I agree. Bruce was a legend in his day but he is well past his best. His constant cringe-inducing gaffs turned me to the dark side, i.e. the X Factor.

I love the dancing and rehearsals but the links are too painful.

I'm not a Brucie fan, he bores me and his jokes are quite sour.

I'd love Jimmy Carr or Russell Brand to replace him, they'd be so funny and they'd stick up for the contestants against the judges

If not, Why Not Gethin!!! He'd be fabulous!

Despite some peculiar marking this year I would not get rid of any of the SCD team. I think they all contribute to a fabulous show.
And, how can anyone not like Tess? She is fabulous!

Tess I'm v neutral to. She can stay. Bruce is ok but I worry about him.

As for the judges, leave them alone or change them all.

Oh you obviously like the rude and crude (not Gethin might I add). I think Carr and Brand would be totally out of place on a show like that. I think Bruce is just right. He is not self promoting in any way like some of the other comedians who would want to turn it into their show. Lets keep a bit of decorum.

i have to agree, he can actually (still) DO all those dances - unlike Graham Norton...

Brucie is much better live rather than on TV, but for me the obvious successor is Anton

I'm with you on this, he's funny AND he knows what he's talking about where dance is concerned. Julian Clary would make a good second choice.
Hope Tess goes. Does there need to be a bloke + girly presenting it? Perhaps Anton together with Julian in a nice frock......

My sentiments exactly.....once Brucie goes to the great ballroom in the sky the it should be Anton as their would be continuity.

To freshen things up that would be the time to replace Tess but I'm not sure who with.....perhaps Claudia or Myleene Klass seems a typical BBC type.
