If he DOES last longer than 12 months in the limelight, I suppose he will be the most successful Scot to win a talent show in recent memory? I hope he gets that accolade, personally.

He's a crap singer if you want swing then we have Buble already.
Leon = David Sneddon I give it a year before he's dumped but he wont be any good anyways. It really was a useless choice of winner and basically just for sympathy is the only reason he won. I expect him to release his album on mothers day and withh little success be dumped by the record company within the year |

Rhydians contract is more flexible than Leons, which will permit him not only to have two tour single not x factor and albums. USA exposure too. He is already known around theworld and his fan base is growing and growning.
His connections to the world of his genre are cemented and will last a lot longer than Leon. Leon does not have the cache of Shayne and therefore will not lalst long.

Work on his album will begin in March. Jackson plans to move away from the jazzy style for which he is known from the TV show, citing Paolo Nutini and Ray LaMontagne as clues to the new sound. No cover versions either. The songs will be originals, and Jackson hopes to be involved in the writing process. |

You are under-estimating Leon's fan base. To beat someone like Rhydian, who was the hot favourite from the start, was an absolutely incredible achievement. The X Factor production team said that Leon's homecoming (shown in the final) had the largest crowd ever from all four series of X Factor. When he returned to Scotland after his win, hundres of fans camped out over night to make sure they got a wristband to meet him. In my opinion, he has a better voice than Will Young and Shayne Ward and, hopefully, will do as well as them.

This all sounds very risky to me.

You can't believe what Cowell says. He told everyone Brookstein's album would be all originals. He lied and it was full of covers.

This all sounds very risky to me.He's come a remarkable way during the short space of time in the live shows. To many of us, Leon has an outstanding voice that needs a bit of experience and training. I don't think Leon could do much to please you, SGE

Oh, gawd...I know. It all depends on SC....eeeeek!!!
![]() . I hope he still has Evie and co to work with him on his voice as they have been instrumental in his improvement since the start.

I think Leon could even survive a covers album, provided he can put his own interpretation on the songs

I'm sure we all would...but we'd want different things.I guess that for Leon, he needs to make good with original material. Then....he can bring out a covers in future years....

Single sales especially physical are declining and we have the Cowell/XF Xmas No1 backlash, this is year 3 that Simon has gone for that slot, hence radio/media campaigns for other tracks. |
