I would love a copy of that program - it means I could stick my DVD-RAM disks into my computer and edit the title names, remove ad breaks etc.

Does anyone know where I might get hold of a copy

About halfway down this page is a post with a couple of links and an explanation of what to do.

Wow! I had given up trying to find a working link. I now have V3.0L19A. (The link to the V4 updater doesn't work, but that's no biggie.) From reading the manual it looks a brilliant tool. I've already renamed a title and moved a title to a new position on a DVD-RAM disc. It would appear I can also copy a disc to the hard drive and then append this to another DVD-RAM disc.

Such a useful programme, I don't know why Panasonic don't offer it for retail sale (apart from the dodgy English in the manual ).

Thanks Gavtech - very much appreciated.

They did sell it with PC DVD-RAM drives several years ago. I think it also shipped with Panasonic DVD-RAM Camcorders. I think it is supposed to be a tool for use with Camcorders rather than DVD Recorders.

Great for use with Panasonic DVD Recorders though....

The latest versions seem to be in Japanese only .

... and Thanks to Hal_loe who directed me to it in the first place.

Unless anyone knows different, of course, it seems impossible to source Panasonic DVD-RAM 4.7GB discs which come in caddies (Type II), but 9.4GB discs in caddies (Type 4) are available.

Forgive what might seem a daft question, but are these double-sided discs compatible with my DMR-E55? Do you simply eject the cartridge and turn the whole thing over when you want to use the other side, or do you have to open the cartridge and then turn the disc over before re-inserting into cartridge, if you see what I mean?

You must be very lucky, then. I have yet to see a listing which features Panasonic-branded 4.7GB discs in caddies.

Anyone else able to answer my earlier question?

I would think they are compatable with the DME-E55, I got a leaflet with my DMR-E95H listing all the Panasonic DVD discs available. Which I believe is a similar era to the E55.

I would hope you just turn the cartridge over. As there are some which are sealed shut, so you cannot open and take the disc out.

Hope that helps.

See http://shop.panasonic.co.uk/invt/LM-AD240LE3

Stock was expected back last week.

I don't know the definitive answer to your question ... but I would be surprised if it would be necessary to open the caddy , as it rather defeats the whole object of the caddy in the first place.

But this link refers to 9.4GB discs!!

Anyway, Gav/Hal - thanks for your replies. I guess I'll just buy a 9.4GB disc and see what happens!

Apologies - Sloppy memory on my part.

I recalled them being mentioned but had forgotten it was specifically 4.7 in caddies you were after.

There's some on this page:

Also here:

Both are reputable dealers.
