Seeing as Gethin should have been preparing for the final and not Matt the Beeb and the producers owe him some sort of extended slot for him to show what everyone has missed out on

surely no other eliminated contestant has done a showdance in the final? Why would they make an exception, can't see how he's a less worthy finalist than Zoe or Emma (not Julian Clary I admit
)

How about how badly treated Gethin was by the judges who ignored the fact that he is the better dancer

*is starting to wish she never made this thread*
I just mused on what Gethin's show dance might have been like. This thread was never intended to turn into yet another one to talk about Gethin over Matt, there's already plenty of threads for that. |

Gethin was not badly treated - he lost out in a dance off, they did not lock him up and bash him with twigs you know!
I have been reading a lot of of these forums and I voted for the very first time on Saturday for Matt because I thought his Waltz was the best dance of the night, I would like Alesha to win. Gethin is a very nice chap but he just didn't shine on Saturday. |

Didn't he get something like the highest male celeb score for rumba?

I know it's not quite the same as she was already in the final, but if memory serves me correctly (and it does sometimes let me down), didn't Zoe do her showdance AFTER they'd been eliminated on that night's show?

It may make sense to have a reliable esteemed dancer preparing for a contingency dance to divert 15 million viewers at festive christmas time -- in case of another meltdown. American Smooth with the flavour of a showdance has traditionally scored highest in SCD -- the punters like it.

I quite enjoyed Camilla's AS airplane sitting on Gethin's shoulder. Camilla looked thrilled too, perhaps even more thrilled when Gethin did not drop her from seven feet up.
That was the joy of watching Gethin and Camilla, they took heartstopping chances but rehearsed them well, so that there was no meltdown. |

But Matt was woeful the previous two weeks
![]() My very rare vote goes to the person whose dance was in my eyes exceptional. Hence I only voted for Mark and Karen last year and only when they did the Argentine Tango - which was fantastic. |

Yes I know he had a serious meltdown the week before but I don't vote just because I think they are nice or handsome or gorgeous or pretty or work for the BBC in any capacity, or are on Eastenders or made some good pop songs once or are on GMTV or played football or rugby once or any other part of their looks or personality!

So why did people vote for Matt when his performances were poor to say the least. Not fair on Tish when the public saved Matt pushing Tish into a dance off

No idea - I didn't vote for him that week nor woud I have voted for him because, as I said before, I only vote when the dance is in my very amateur opinion exceptional. This is why I didn't vote for Letitia in the quarter final. Again I think Letitia is a very nice person but I never vote just because I like them as people.

That's cool- but wh did they go with Matt and not Tish who gave the better performance
But getting back to the point of the thread, Gethin and Camilla had a good run in the competition and too be honest it should be three in the final anyway - I think the programme loses some of its sparkle when its just a two horse race, but to ask them to work hard all week to get a show dance together when there is no possible reward at the end of it would be very crazy. |

I would love to see Penny's or Gabby's showdance but it's not going to happen because they are not finalists in the competition. Hence, I have no interest, or see no reason to dream about a Gethin showdance.
Especially with Alesha's to look forward too!

You haven't ever had an interest in Gethin. So why do you keep posting just to say you haven't? Puzzles me!

That said, I WOULD have liked to see Gethin do a showdance in the final, in fact I'd've liked to see a lot more from the other contestants in the final, not least because it would mean the silly 5 dance mess wouldn't be necessary. |

Hasn't he done the Christmas special?
As for preparing for the final, I imagine all three contestants would have been preparing for the final. They didn't know who was going to be knocked out. |
