I really love this TV but one thing is niggling me and that is I often get slight light 'seeping' through in the top left hand corner of the screen during really dark scenes. It is really distracting and my eyes keep getting drawn to it.
It can vary from programme to programme and according to how good the blacks are.

I'm not sure whether it is actual backlight bleed or just uneven backlight?

I have read that lowering the backlight can improve black levels but to do this you need to access the Service Menu and not sure whether it is okay to this ie would it affect the warranty?

I think other TVs allow you to adjust backlight from the 'normal' menu which would be really handy.

Would appreciate advice on this as it is really spoiling what is an otherwise great TV.

It sounds like backlight seeping through, but adjusting the backlight would have no real effect on this problem, how long have you had the t.v.? corners tend to have this problem when new but during the first week of "run in" they fade off normaly to a less, if at all noticable state.

I have had my Tv for three weeks now so should this problem have gone by now?

I thought that turning the backlight down might have helped as the bleed isn't very much? I was told that it improved blacks?

My brotherinlaws 32" Samdung (Yeah I know what I wrote..) has a really bad bit of bleed in top right corner that is always there when first switched on, despite the time he has now had it, thus kicking the run in time idea right in the mouth, but I can tell you that both top corners on mine (A Sharp) had slight bleed that were indeed resolved during a weeks run in. His fades after about an hour of use but not to the point it is no longer noticeable at all, about 80% desapates into the black as it were. Three weeks should have resolved it though in your case, if your unhappy with this issue by all means entertain a replacement of the same model, some thing I've done before, only to discover the replacement had the same fault, i.e. this maybe related to the design/construction of this model, but I wouldnt have thought this with Panasonic, a brand that I would recomend in all honesty.

Thanks again for your help.

I think I will be trying for a replacment as quite a few people I have spoken to who with this TV don't have backlight bleed.

Excuse my ignorance but is backlight bleed always white as mine is a kind of yellow colour?
