Other than that, and the changes made to the elimination process this yera, it's exactely the same.

Amazing that it's even more successful all these years on without having any format tweaks (i.e. X Factor)”

Justin Lee Collins was on more than just the Saturday night he was on every night at about 8.30.

And his programme was great - really funny. ITT is becoming somewhat a tired formula. Justin's boys' night in with Anton, Brendan, John Byrnes and Paul Killich is available on YouTube.

i loved SCD 1, I recently watched it all back again, it was great. Justin Lee Collins did a daily show but on BBC3 not BBC2, he wasn't as good as Claudia - in my opionion (that I can't spell !!)

it is a shame it gets forgotton - esp the fact that Anton got to the top 3, it was his fantastic JIVE that got me back into ballroom - and made me track him down and start attending his classes!!!

Completely agree.

Natasha and Brendan were just fantastic. We still compare everything to them - and no one ever comes close.

Adored to DD show dance and the love is in the air samba. Ooo and the foxtroot she fell in love with and did it again in the christmas special.

Such a shame that the beeb seem to have forgotten S1 winners.

Plus someone said she is is on the 6 o'clock news. ITT is no way live so can't see why she couldn't have been on over the years but understand now.

Also didn't Zoe Ball present the first year of ITT on BBC2 not Claudia

I still refer to Brendan as Brendan Coley Cole, Anton as Anton Forsyth Du Beke and Paul Killer Killick though - JLC makes me laugh

It was the brilliant Paso Doble that Brendan & Natasha danced in SCD 1 that actually got me interested in the show, complete with dramatic Operatic Music - Magic !! especially after the hilliariously funny running around with the Cape by Chris Parker!

Loved their Dirty Dancing routine and Brendan doing "that lift" as their show-dance.

Foxtrot - Fab!

Samba - those Samba Rolls - Classic! No wonder they ALSO got "A 10" !!

Quick-Step - ....... Great!

The long & the short of the story, despite their "History" Natasha & Brendan's names ARE on that SCD Trophy/Glitter Ball.

And also to their credit, Lesley & Anton - Just Brilliant also, as were Claire & John.

Was the first seried the one where they had the final in the Tower Ballroom at Blackpool?
I've seen clips of dances on Youtube and it looks just gorgeous.
Pity not to use it again - it would add so much to the spectacle

I loved series 1 - they were all rookie dancers and all had "journeys" - and the judges weren't stupid enough to have fobvious favourites..... they just loathed Chris Parker with a vengeance and never seemed to learn that the nastier they were the more the public voted for him!

I still think Anton and Lesley were robbed and maybe the should do a re-run a la DWTS where they had the winner and runner up of their 1st season re-do the final - which was deservedly won by the better and more consistent dancer...

Here is Natasha & Brendan talking about winning the first series.

It looks a brilliant documentary, can't wait to see all of it!

BTW I completely agree that there was some great dancing in series 1, don't forget John Byrne & the girl from Brookside.

Claire Sweeney. I seem to remember light hearted banter about her having dance training!

Thank you! I tend to forget names at this time of night.

I know! Poor Claire, the public didn't take to her or vote for her, she went out far too early. But I rooted for them as I was a big fan of John Byrne in his competitive career.

Here's another clip from the docu on Dec.27th.

Peggy & Len.

They probably thought it would bring up too many unhappy memories for the people concerned. Natasha and Brendan would have to be in the same studio for example. Maybe they both refused.

I'm surprised by this too. It's very obviously they deliberately left out series 1, Natasha to be precise. They still talk a lot about Brendan being the first winner but I don't remember anything in the last three series' ITT about Natasha. She was working for BBC 24 all those time until recently. There must be some reasons.

Natasha is to be featured in the forthcoming documentary so I am at a loss to know why SCD! was completely ignored on tonight's ITT.

In SCD1, they did an episode from Blackpool ..... N&B's jive week

Perhaps they elected to not have a Natasha segment this week, as Camilla was already pretty gutted, and she didn't want to see Natasha saying how "amazing" her time in SCD was!

I very much doubt that 'they' are that sensitive. The VTs at the time were edited in such a way as to make the viewers think that the chemistry between Brendan & Natasha on the dance floor went further than that. I wouldn't like to comment on what happened off screen although both have denied that there was a romance.

Oh I know.

But there clearly is a reason why Natasha wasn't included.

I was amazed to see in this weekend's adverts that the dreaded Christopher Parker is to appear in the Strictly live tour next year. Ok, he's bottom of the billing, but what on earth are they thinking?

Comedy value perhaps??? Or he's secretly been taking lessons for the last 4 years and will come out and WOW us all with his Paso!

Who's he dancing with? Is Hanna Kartunnen doing the tour?

By the way I agree with this and I was pretty annoyed that they didn't at least have Brendan on the Sofa tonight with Karen, Darren and Phillip. I've said from the beginning of this series that they always seem to ignore series 1. Whenever they show great examples of what the judges are looking for they rarely show series 1 and yet there was some fab dancing and really it was by far the best series for honesty and decent marking as the judges weren't well known and nor were the dancers.
