SCD1 does seem to be the forgotten child of the family but I always look out for even the tiniest clip of it here and there...and wasn't Natasha briefly on this season's preview show?

Bruce didn't even introduce Hanna as "Finalist from series 1" on Saturday's show.

Obviously lots of people voted for her and Chris Parker, so you'd think it would've been mentioned who she was before her exhibition for viewers who didn't recognize her.

When I watched my recording of tonight's ITT a bit ago I also wondered what the reason was to why Series 1 is ignored so much! Natasha & Brendan were amazing... and I loved the whole series... aside from the Bill & Karen year.. the first year was my absolute favourite. It is very strange that ITT seem to so obviously miss Series 1 out. Perhaps they don't have access to all the clips as they only started in Series 2? Is that a possibility?

They have shown the odd clip. Brendan & Natasha's Paso was shown this series. However, they seem to prefer to show Brendan with Fiona Philips!!!

I thought that it was really odd that they didn't mention the 1st series, and it's not the first time that they've done it.
Maybe when they have another series they miss out talking about the 2nd series, maybe they can only remember back 3 years?

She's probably still in counselling from the trauma.

I thought Natasha had pretty much decided to put it behind her? In which case, understandable to not particularly feature her, but you're right - no reason not to have Brendan.

That was pretty interesting - no uproar about the lift! Though Tess was at it early, pointing out the peck on her cheek from Brendan!!

I think the whole Brendan/Natasha/Camilla thing is part of the reason why she stays well out of it. The show doesn't mention the first series as such but a lot of the Natasha doesn't seem to want to know either.

There were illegal lifts all the time in season one if I remember rightly.

Also the judges looked very very much younger so it would be totally unfair for the viewers to learn just how old they all look now.

I seem to recall that in that series, lifts were not penalised if they were not in the body of the dance - ie on the intro and ending like this.

Everything was treated in a much more fun way back then. Although every couple that did lifts were penalised. It was always brought up when the judges commented and discussed on the BBC3 show with JLC. In fact they had regular discussions on it, but in a really fun way!!

Paul Killick started off the lifts in the first programme with a lift in the cha cha cha with Verona. It put all the couples backs up so they decided to do lifts too! In the second show Brendan and Natasha did that lift at the end of the quickstep, and Anton and Lesley did a lift during the rumba. Both couples were marked down. Arlene said so on the BBC3 show when talking with JLC about it.

Week 3 at Blackpool- it went lift crazy! Natasha and Brendan in the jive, Chris and Hanna- jive and Paul and Verona- jive again.

Re- the whole discussion on the BBC forgetting series 1, it is quite shocking the way they disregard it. I do think Natasha feels a bit embarrassed about the whole thing now and doesn't want much to do with it. But that was pretty much her attitude throughout the competition anyway.

We wouldn't have this problem had Anton and Lesley won! There would be no problem getting Lesley to talk about her time in the show!!

I'll never forget Julian's hooker comment. Bet Camilla had a laugh to at Kerplunsky's expense too with that one

And wasn't Natasha miffed after finishing fourth in the Christmas special behind Jill Halfpenny, Denise and Aled

Exactly the same thing happened in this series. Series 1 the better pairing of Lesley & Anton got the boot because everyone kept feeling sorry for Chris& Hanna

i fell in love with scd when i saw natasha and brendan - they got me hooked. Don't lets forget the wonderful Lesley Garrett from scd1...she was ace and a fab sport!!

I agree. Natasha and Brendan got my whole family addicted to SCD. Even my dad phoned up for a RTV show!

I also loved Lesley and Anton and, although he was not a good dancer, the pairing of Chris Parker and Hanna was fantastic viewing. The weekly view of one of the best ever latin dancers trying so hard to get choreography that Chris could do as well as dancing her own socks off was amazing. I liked Hanna anyway but she was awesome in SCD1.

Plus we had Erin and Martin Offiah and the scandal when they were caught being friendly in a park! It was more innocent but certainly set the format for the later shows.
