RTD says although they are writing season 2, stupid BBC Wales have still yet to commission it. It got record ratings and got the thumbs up from TV critics too.

Surely we must get a second series?

They probably will when they see the DVD sales.

I understand it is the Slitheen who are holding up negotiations as they are demanding more for series 2...

I think I read somewhere that the Beeb are looking to re-tool their childrens programming so this might be another reason for the delay. After all why commission a second series of one of their most recent programming successes when you can commission some utter crud that takes up a quarter of the budget of SJA. Sorry my sarcasm is showing again isn't it?

Apparently there might not be a box set of SJA because 'Invasion Of The Bane' hasn't sold as well as expected.

Grrr The reason most of us haven't bought IOTB is because we're holding back for the box set!

Well what do they expect? The pilot was shown seperately from the series so who on earth was going to even be aware of it let alone buy it?

Obviously interest in a TV product would revolve around a more publicised series.
I wouldn't be surprised if many of the viewers who watched the series haven't even heard of the pilot since it was broadcast seperately from the series a long long while back.
