Why can't the final just be about who's best on the night?

Well, some of this fawning (both couples) is a bit puke-inducing to old-skool types like me!!!!

Just a little self-deceiving!

Be honest, voters. Celeb-chasers and idol-worshippers on the one hand. Dance fans on the other. Don't think you can be both. Not easily...”

But maybe voting in advance just means that the person is still voting for the previous performance (just some food for thought). By the way I always vote on the saturday night.

I don't think that many people on here actually say that they are just voting for the dance. Having looked at both Matt Di and Alesha appreciation threads, people are quite happy to say that other factors come into play for their voting patterns. However, although it is so easy to stereotype people, not all Matt voters are teenies and EE watchers (I'm neither of those), and not all Alesha voters listen to RnB (or whatever the music style ist) or are young teenie boys with too much money on their hands.

On the whole, it's up to the people.

Easy solution though - don't read it

I don't understand voting for the previous week's performance.

But perhaps that's why people still buy Sir Cliff's singles. Past glories??? Snigger, snigger...

Er, why would you?
On that basis I'd still be voting Ramprakash.

Sadly to reach some informed comment you sometimes have to trawl through acres of slush...

But just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean that it is A) not happening and B) not perfectly ok.

And if you still want to vote for Matt, I have it from a safe source that Matt DiAngelo's number is really Ramps number. So you know which one to vote!

Dancing talent has very little impact on the public voting. Just the way it is.”

Surely though, the celebrities have proven now by week 12 whether they have dance talent or not? And they still have that dance talent whether you vote for them on a Wednesday or a Saturday after the dances? A bad night does not wipe out all previous dance talent.

To be honest, I wouldn't call any of what happens on here vitriol. There's a lot of blather - and that sometimes makes me wish people would think for two seconds before they type. I cringe on their behalf sometimes! There's a lot of snidey digs - and they get right up my nose.

But let's not confuse that with strength of feeling or a vigorous debate - both of which I enjoy immensely. On occasion someone else's well-expressed passion even changes my mind about something.

All the remarks about the perception of unfairness that has resulted from the shift of power towards the judges and away from the paying public are, to my mind, quite within the bounds of decency, however forcefully expressed.
