There's so many I like that it's quite different to come out with a favourite but Jamie Oliver's fish pie recipe produces the best fish pie I've ever had!

I've made it quite a few times since I first discovered... not too often though... it's not really a healthy choice option with all that cream and cheese. :S

After years of buying chocolate ginger sweets and spending a fortune on them, my friend showed me how to make them at minimal cost.

1 pkt of crystallised ginger or stem ginger in syrup. You won`t use it all.

1 pkt of chocolate - whatever kind you like.

Melt the chocolate and cut up the ginger into bite size pieces.

Get one ice cube tray. Place the ginger pieces in it. Pour over the melted chocolate to the brim of the tray. Put in fridge for an hour. Pop them out. Hey presto! Choccie gingers at minimal cost.

Not exactly a high tech recipe - but it's saved me a bloomin` fortune!

Andalusian Chicken - which is a pot roast chicken stuffed with paprika rice, cooked in oil and butter mix along with onion and garlic (in a large pan on the stove-top). Use the juices to make a white wine sauce - add fresh skinned tomatoes and some red peppers (with cream if you really want a heart attack).

Mmmm... that sounds lush. I'm going to have to try it now!

With cream probably.

Chicken and mushrooms in white wine sauce:
(I don't do quantities, sorry)

Fry some chicken breasts, add lots of mushrooms and some garlic and fry for a min or 2, add some wine and a chicken stock cube and let it reduce for a few mins, add some low fat creme fraiche and some cream, oh and some lemon juice and let it reduce a little more. Serve with rice.

Curry

Fry some chicken breasts, add some onions and garlic, cooked potatoes, spinach and paneer and cook for a min, add tesco tikka sauce, one can of tomatoes and a large pot of yoghurt and whatever spices you have in the cupboard, cook for about 20 mins and serve with rice.
(this is a huge curry, so lasts forever)

I do a real quick version of carbonara (sp)

Fry some bacon lardons in oil (i use chilli oil)

Add a splash of water, double cream and lashings of black pepper.

Scatter the bottom of the bowl with parmasan cheese add the pasta and sauce.

I use that basic sauce for a lot of things if you add mushrooms and white wine it goes really well over chicken.

Sounds nice but you'd offend my Italian friends putting cream anywhere near a carbonara.

I know, I know! I am slighty embarrased by it. I was dubious about making the proper one with eggs when I was pregnant with my son. So i had to develop one that tasted the same.

Hehe I wouldn't worry, it sounds nice I may try it. I make something similar using cream cheese for a very quick pasta sauce.

hmm, I have a few but this concoction I made up a few years ago.

Chicken breats, seasoned and lightly covered with italian seasoning and fried until just cooked then top with a big slice of tomato or Italian meat slices and then a tonne of buffalo mozzarella then under the grill to melt. It's basic and easy but tastes great.

Vegetarian chili, always start with veggie burgers that really look and taste more like hamburgers than just patties of tofu. This one is great for my friends who can't eat meat and its really healthy, delicious, and hearty.

Sautee a lot of onions with crushed garlic in a pot until soft. Add in chopped carrots, celery, and mushrooms/potatoes/zuchinni depending on your taste. I just use up whatever vegetables are in the refrigerator. Add in 1 can chickpeas, 1 can of kidney beans, 1 can tomato sauce and water to thicken. Cook until vegetables are soft. Chop up about four veggie burgers into tiny pieces and pour in. Season with garlic and onion powder, salt, black pepper, a dash of hot pepper, and serve hot.
