MMMMMMMMMM!! One of my favourite meals in the world! Just had one for lunch!

Although it's getting a little pricey at Wagamama now - £7.75 for what is essentially just a bit of chicken and rice!

Anyone make it at home? You can buy the sauces in Chinese / Japanese supermarkets, however, one time I bought one and it didn't have the cooking instructions in English - opened the packet and it was a bloody powder inside!! So i tried adding water and put it in the microwave. It wasn't a pretty sight, and tasted absolutely foul!

You probably should have mixed it with natural yoghurt and/or coconut milk.

It's a great dish. I looked at the Wagamama cookbook the other week but you need to seriously invest in some strange ingredients to get the most out of it. You can buy the Chilli Men sauce now in Supermarkets and they're pretty good.

Anyone find the recipe for this? Love the sauce. Mmmm. Can you buy that ready made?

Also, what dressing do they use for the salad?

Katsu curry...mmmmm!

It's my favorite there as well.

The problem is that I don't like to try anything else as I think I'd have wished that I'd have stuck to it.

I have had a couple of other things recently though.

I like the peas that you pod yourself as well though.

went into Wagamama today and remembered when I got home that I asked months back if anyone knew what salad dressing they put on the salad which comes with the Katsu Curry meal?

Does anyone know?

I love it. It is the most popular item on the menu at Wagamama world wide. I bought the book to get the recipe but it's not in there. They seem to keep it a trade secret!

I went to an Oriental supermarket and asked if they had any katsu sauce and they sold me Tonkatsu sauce which was nice but not totally right. However on another forum someone suggested the sauce had a bit of a taste of instant gravy about it so what I did was buy some Oxo instant chicken gravy and made that, then added some Tonkatsu sauce and a bit of tomato ketchup and although it is not 100% like Wagamama's it is pretty damn close and very, very nice.

Also in the supermarket I bought panko breadcrumbs which I used to coat the chicken in before I fried it and that was lovely too - they are bigger than the normal breadcrumbs you can buy or make and make it extra crispy.

Yep, it's the dressing they use on the 'raw salad' , recipe is in one of their cookbooks

If you want some really crispy breadcrumbs, try crushing cornflakes and use them.

Yum
