I just prefer adding salt and vinegar to my fish and chips personally. Like to keep it nice and simple.

Haddock & chips.
Calamari and chips or Black pudding supper. Though I probably only eat from a chip shop once or twice a year. |

When I was a child, I used to love dipping my chips, (and even sometimes bits of my fish too!) into some curry sauce when having some fish and chips!
I even used to at one point love having mushy peas with my fish and chips, but went off them for some reason!

It depends on the chippy for me.
Last night before the football, I had a smoked sausage supper because I'm not keen on the batter at the place near the ground. But there's a chippy in town where the batter reminds me of fish suppers from when I was young so it would be a crime to get anything else. And then there's the one nearest me that I don't go to anymore - last order I had from there, the chips were still raw in the middle. |

Chips and cheese with curry sauce is a rare treat! I don't mind a steak pie supper once every few months either. I'm hungry now!

Chips and gravy or curry sauce is very popular around here. So is chips and cheese. Add to that chips, cheese and garlic sauce. But AFAIK chips, cheese and gravy is not. I was discussing it last night with a couple of mates whilst watching Man v Food as they showed fries with cheese on and I mentioned a dish they have in the US called Disco Fries which is chips, cheese and gravy (a variation on Poutine). They didn't seem to like the idea but i've tried it and it's ok. Can't beat chips, cheese and garlic though
