No, that'll be Yo Sushi. I have to say that I'm more of a sashimi girl myself (not a great fan of rice). Never been to wagamama as the fact it's a chain instantly puts me off - it just seems conveyor belt without the conveyor belt

Oh yeah, don't get those places at all. My mate went and said it was nice but it worked out at £25 a head and he was still hungry when he came out.

God, the food is dreadful.

My OH took me there for a pre cinema feed.

I looked at him and asked him if he hated me, because the food was so bland and revolting.

I hate chains and try to avoid unless completely unavoidable.

What is twee and middle class about world cuisine?

Is black pudding only for the working class?

At Wetherspoons almost everything except steaks and burgers are frozen and just heated - some of it, like the chilli, is microwaved.

A friend was asked to pick a different meal as the one he wanted was 'at the back of the freezer'...

I've only been to Wagamama's once and we had lovely food and very reasonable priced. Only complaint was that the portions were far too large.

Really? You must have gone on a bad day as their food is anything but bland and revolting.

Not really do not have a problem with any class group, just dislike people who go to a place because they think its THE place to be seen.

No dislike black pudding, and i enjoy a wide range of food thank you, within reason because of my diabetes.
I just do not get the attraction in eating raw fish, i like noodles there was a nice little noodle bar close to us their food was great, but that was not a chain just a small venture.

No, I've been assured by many friends that that is the norm.

The Japan Cafe is better on the corner of Gerald Street.

I don't think anyone would go to Yo sushi thinking it is the place to be seen? The sushi is awful compaired to the really excellent independants in London. Raw fish is a truely special thing, but only if the fish is exceptionally fresh. Give it a whirl you might understand the attraction.

I don't live in London, but i've been to many traditional Japanese and Vietnamese restaurants and while Wagamama isn't as authentic it's still very good.

I have never been to Yo Sushi but have heard innumerable bad things about it.

forget Petrus and Claridges, the stars flock to Yo Sushi in Londons "fashionable" O2 centre, Finchley Road.

*feels a little guilty*

Most pubs have pre-made food provided by somewhere like 3663. You'll be hard pressed to find anything but the most expensive restaurants that don't pre-cook at least some of their food.

Preparing a meal from scratch takes too long for it to be effective. Some of wagamama's food is cooked on site (at least in Dublin there was people frying stuff). It's not like a ready-meal where you buy a microwave platter - the components of the food will be seperate, and they will be prepared in different ways, before being combined on a plate.

Almost no chain or cheaper restaurant will cut vegetables themselves when the speed of having them pre-cut and cooking from frozen is so great, especially if the taste is comparable.
