I tried to change my contract last month to a lower amount, I got a bill this week and it was still the original amount so I phoned up again today to ask what was going on. They said the person I spoke to forgot to change my contract last time I phoned up, what a fcuking ****. Yet the same **** had the time to try to sell me a fcuking insurance policy, if he had not put so much focus on trying to sell me some crap maybe he would have remembered to change my contract.

Vodafone from my experience are the best network, their Customer services are in the UK. And when I broke my mobile, even though I dident have accidental damage cover, they sent out a replacement which arrived the next day. They also have pretty good 3G signal and 7.2Mbps HSDPA broadband mobile internet, which is the fastest of all UK networks.

I have had far more ongoing problems with other teleco companies:

"Three" - forgot to renew my unlimited data plan so I racked up £80 of data charges in one month - which they refused to refund. The month after that - dispite being promised that it would renew this time - the same thing happend, which they also refused to refund. I will be leaving them as soon as my contract ends. The customer support is completely appalling, they kept telling me it was my fault !!

Virgin Media - Dispite only being on Basic TV, 4Mbps broadband and phone. Somehow the bills went up to almost £70 a month for half a year. Though I now have a much better deal from retentions dept.

From my point of view, if I had only one incorrect bill I would be happy !

Vodafone are the best. It sounds to me like you caught the wrong customer service advisor at the wrong moment. That happens everywhere, so unlucky. I recommend phoning again.

I have been with Vodafone for 12 years on Pay as you talk and have spent 4 years with poor signal in the area I live in and travel in, the signal got worse and worse each year it looked like.

Vodafone blamed it on the sim card then the fone which was bull as other friends of mine had the same problem. Vodafone wouldnt have it that it was them that had the poor service.

So this year i did the best thing i ever done got my number transferred to 02 since then been a happier person - Yay!

i get free texts money back when ever i top up free calls its great i got nothing from vodafone and they wouldnt give anything either

So I join the I Hate Vodafone group

Vodafone have excellent customer services in my experience.

Your language and tone seems to make me think it might not have been the sales advisor who was being funny...

That is a valid point, one of the RUMORED reasons for VF ending that sponsorship deal was that their new connections and retail stores were taking a battering in Liverpool and London.

I hope you didn't speak to the advisor like you write your posts on here, that maybe a reason you don't get very far....

So just because I am a CSA for VF, I am a "nobhead"? I wonder what job you do, shall we call every person that does your job an abusive name because we had a bad experience with less than 1 % of those people?

Vodafone aren't good in my local area, they have at last count 5 masts in various shapes and sizes and they get the worst signal.

e.g. if you go to my local ASDA and stand a metre outside the door you can make a call but step 1 metre inside the door and you get no signal at all totally dead. T-Mobile, Orange get the best in my opinion T-Mobile seem to be the best mobile operator I have used and been with them all apart from Three.

I've been with Voda for about eight years, bar a one year break when I went to Tmobile purely for the phone they were offering. While I've had a few bad experiences with Voda, they've generally been fine, whereas TMobile were uniformly bad - and their network was hopeless too.

IME Voda have the most consistent coverage - I live and work in a fairly rural area, and it's no coincidence virtually everyone I know is with Vodafone. They've never really let me down wherever I've travelled, but when friends visit with Orange, T Mobile, O2 phones they invariably start waving them around in the air or leaving them by the window etc to get a signal. All the networks have at least their share of bad customer service, Voda included, but at the end of the day it's the performance that really matters.

One thing I really dislike about all the networks right now is their constant pushing for 18 month or longer contracts. Everytime I upgrade I have to go through the same rigmarole of being told that 12 month contracts don't exist anymore, they can't possibly do it anymore, etc etc, until I eventually wear them down. All the shops and websites are the same; they use every trick in the book to get you on a longer contract, by hook or by crook.

My wife recently upgraded at Phones 4U, insisted on a 12 month contract only, they swore blind that's what it was but explained that "their system could only print 18 month contracts". They "confirmed" with Vodafone on the phone in front of her that it was 12 months, handwrote on the contract that it was 12 months, two weeks later we got a letter from Vodafone saying thanks for the 18 month upgrade. To be fair to Voda it looks like this was just Phones 4U lying to get the sale, and Voda are saying they'll fix it if we take the paperwork into a Voda shop. If they don't, that's one handset going straight back.

Everyone who don't do their job properly. No matter what job they do I respect people who do their job properly and hate the ones who don't and end up making other people suffer.

So what are you going to do in 12 months time or so, when no network will offer a 12 month contract, only 18 or 24?

That's the way it's going. Trust me.

I don't see why people *HAVE* to change their mobile every 12 months?? Do you change your home phone every 12 months? If you do, do you get a free DECT handset from BT/Virgin? NO!

Mobile operators are too soft on customers. Make them pay for a handset, regardless of what it is, lower the tariffs/call charges to compensate, and stop the throw-away attitude of mobile users.

I have a Nokia 6310i that I've had for over 5 years - still lasts 21+ days on standby. Shed loads of talktime if I ever needed it.

I also got a Nokia N95 about 3 months ago on my staff line. Paid £130 quid for it. Will probably keep it for 3 or 4 years or until it breaks.

I just don't understand it.... do people change their TV sets every 12 months or so?

Sorry, rant over.
