I would imagine any company would prefer not to have people like Hitman as a customer. Rude and prone to sweeping generalisations.

While its true that Vodafone seem to be having some problems at the moment, being abusive doesn't help.

I wish this was the case, so I could leave them now rather than in 5 months time

VF also have a rule, if you are abusive and or rude on the phone to an advisor (ALL calls are recorded) they can cut you off....and in extreme cases they can admin bar your phone too......

I would rather they did that and cancelled my contract. Don't give a crap about the phone.

They don't care about all that sadly, all they care about is making money and doing that will not make them money.

If they are rude to me, I am allowed to be rude to them as well. Why should I be respectful if they are going to be rude?

You really are something aren't you. What a role model.

Yes i have had issues with call centres before, but i either dont use the company concerned anymore or leave the issues and stay with that company. I have never been abusive because at the end of the day, they are doing a job the same as everyone else with jobs does, they have to stick to the rules and regulations the same as other workers in other jobs.

If he was right in front of me, I would. Pity he was just a coward behind the phone.

I think this thread needs closing, this has gone too far now. I mean if you have a problem with a company, dont use them again, go elsewhere and let the issues be gone!

hitman the bottom line is if your not happy go elsewhere but im afraid i have a reality check for you, all businesses policies are to try and make a profit, so if you went to O2,TMobile, 3, Orange, SuperMobile, SuperDooperPooperScooper Network whatever, they would be exactly the same. I think you need some sort of counselling for your anger.
Its Christmas, wheres the love, cmon do this with me

I dont think there is any need for you to be like this! I work in a vodafone store and if you had just gone in and explained what had happened (in a non offensive manner) the adviser you speak to would be able to fix this issue within a few minutes! I had a customer that I solved this for a couple of weeks ago and their priceplan was changed and a discount put on their account to pay back the extra money that they had to pay! This is not as big an issue as you are making out and if this is the worst thing that you have experienced with customer services I would love to know how you get on with one of the other networks that have all their call centres in other countries and are even more strict when it come to lowering your priceplan! With vodafone you can lower your priceplan once a month after 9 months. T-mobile you cant bring it down at all and with orange you can only bring it down one level after 9 months. If you spoke to the adviser the way you started on this post I would do nothing for you either! Be reasonable and you will get better customer service!

Is there a reason why you would drag up an old thread from 17months ago? Clearly, the situation was different then.

I actually put an alert on the OP without realising the thread was an old one and the OP is now an inactive member anyway.

What was the point in bringing this up?

OMG, how wasn't this thread closed!? I don't really get the need to drag it all up again.

The OP is probably inactive due to a prison sentence for 'battering' innocent customer service advisers!

This thread should be a lesson to everyone that being aggressive gets you nowhere in life and people are 100 times more likely to try and help you if you are polite and friendly.

Sometimes when there's a problem both parties (the customer and the advisor) can get annoyed about it. Yes i admit i have been annoyed when on the phone to an advisor and things dont get done or don't go to plan. it happens. But i have never been angry, had a nasty tone of voice, been rude, threatened or swore at them. I have always kept my cool because thats just who i am.
