I thought I'd pop into my local cafe to sample their Christmas dinner yesterday.

Amidst the turkey, sprouts and roasties, I was amazed to discover pickled beetroot, a sliced gherkin and a picked onion. Surely more suited to fish n chips, needless to say I didn't eat them.

Has anyone else ever had these with their Christmas din dins?

Sounds lovely..... <vomit>

I never eat roast dinners in cafes and restaurants. They always taste as if they've been boiling in a vat of grease for three days.

I have sometimes had beetroot with a chicken dinner, but never with a beef dinner.
