We have a LG LHRH361SE home cinema system. Just recently it is being very selective in which dvd's it will play, so for example we put in a copy of lost and it wouldnt play, then we kept trying , it worked and we watched one episode, next time it wouldnt load at all. This happens with other dvds too, one may not work, we put in a different one and it does.

We have cleaned the laser with a disc, the discs being inserted are not damaged. Any ideas andyone?

I would get a new player. Anorexia in dvd players is not good.

Yep - sounds like DVD player is on its way out. That's one of the problems with buying an all-in-one DVD player/surround sound system combi - you're going to have to scrap the home cinema as well as the DVD player. Not really a bad thing though - home cinemas are more trouble than they are worth. Next time buy a separate DVD player and AV amp/receiver. Much more flexible, will sound much better, and you will find it much easier to connect other things to it using coaxial, optical, RCA, HDMI etc etc etc.

Thank you. Could I use the current speakers with an amp? Any recommendations on what sort of amp I would be looking for, we are clueless here.
