after all the TARDIS is a living entity in it's own right and we all heal, it would just seem that for the TARDIS it's slightly accelerated or maybe it's more like a scab if you get what I mean?

Spoiler
As long he doesn't turn back time too far, or the 5th Doctor might re-appear ... again!

I love it when they do stuff like that.

They unveil these things like that he can turn back time and that he can get the whole world to chant his name, then be empowered (which IMO was just a joke) and then we ask "why the hell hasn't he used these before?".

The bit of the new theme I heard sounded a bit electric-guitar. Was Brian May involved?

my theory is that a regeneration scenario (the doc being of no use ie- xmas 2005) will bring all 3 assistants out to help him

I liked the theme tune as it was, but I can't imagine they'll have made it worse, so we'll see... Just as long as they haven't touched the titles' graphics - the bit where David Tennant's name spins round and shoots off, followed by Kylie Minogue's, is the bit I'm most looking forward to.

I'll admit to being a little nervous about this new version, as the current rendition is so good.

But, if the credits still read "Music: Murray Gold", then I'm willing to bet the new version will be pretty good.

Time will tell.

Oh well, if its bad a lot of people will at least grow to like it / tolerate it eventually. I can't imagine it being that bad though - if you listen to Murray Gold talking about the origins of his first version of the theme you can tell he really cares about it. I reckon it will be good.

That's exactly what's in my mind, too.
