Phone Vote: Did you have any problems getting through?
I thought it might be interesting to see what the experience of Forum members was on Saturday night - and also to see if there was a difference between the voting experience of Rhydian and Leon fans.
So please let us know - who did you vote for, and could you get through? |

There have been at least half a dozen threads on this topic already, Mulett!
What has been shown is that a lot of people had difficulty voting for both Leon and Rhydian. |

I mean Andy lost by 1% to Shayne in series 2, and I couldn't get through for him in the second show just like I couldn't get through for Leon this time around. Did I run off to Ofcom? No I was mature enough to except that Shayne doubtless had high call demand too. |

I only voted for Leon and before they were down to the last two and after SD had gone it had taken ages to get through to vote as I was constantly met with the engaged tone or 'lines are busy please try later'/'you have not been charged for this call'...
Like many others, I assumed this was because of the huge volume of people trying to get through at the same time, so I just kept pressing redial for an absolute age and was glad in a way, because I knew then that loads of folk were also trying to vote. I eventually managed to get through about five times. Had I been able to get straight through, I would have been very worried that not enough people were voting for Leon, the person I wanted to win! Well done Leon and here's to your future success! |

I had trouble getting through to Same Difference. But that's always going to be the way, especially since I decided to choose to vote five minutes before lines closed.
Of course there's going to be high call volumes because it's such a popular show and all three finalists had massive fan bases. I think a lot of people were bitter that their favourite did not win...I know I was ![]() That said, good luck to Leon. People, let the controversy go and let Leon enjoy his win which is a great achievment. |

I had constant trouble getting through on Leons line the whole night, but only managed to get through once when it was down to the final true and I was on redial all the way through both boys performances.

Quote on the night just befor the phone lines closed.... "It's so close, almost nothing between them, vote for your favourite"
Quote from ITV yesterday.... "Leon polled 10% more votes than Rhydian" Someone is was telling porkies. At the end of the day these programs are nothing to do with fairness, they are just about making money! After all who thought there would be two votes on Saturday night. How many people voted again? Do the Cowells of this world worry if the odd few don't get through? Of course not, they will have made millions out of those who did get through, and they will have tied down every one of the contestants such that if the Leons of this world make any real money a good percentage will end up in their pockets of. I am surprised they didn't include a phone quiz asking where Leon comes from a..Greeland b..Lapland c..Scotland. Cynical? Just a bit. Fed up with phone votes or phone-in phoney quizzes? Quite a lot. The television companies should be required to publish the actual votes cast or number who enter the quizzes. Perhaps they do but I don't see them. |

Eevn if everyone had trouble getting through, it still shows they need to sort out the number of available phone lines.

The poll is a bit flawed as the answers are not mutually exclusive. i.e. you could have voted for Rhydian and got through as well as voting for Rhyian and not getting through, There is also the possibility that you were trying to vote for both of them to keep SD out.

So no one it appears that no one so far was able to get through to vote for Leon... Wonder how on earth he managed to win then. All very mysterious.

I voted the 2nd option because it took me and lots and lots of attempts before getting through. An option for that would have been much better.

I know, but it is not possible to do a really complex analysis on Digital Spy, so this poll is indicative rather than detailed.
yeah I know. Maybe if you changed it to voted for x and got through each time or something. Although it is probably too late to change |

Could not get through at all after SD were eliminated. It was even quite hard to get through much of the time during the first show. |

At the moment, two thirds of people here are saying they voted/tried to vote for Rhydian.

Just shows you ![]() And no one got through to vote for leon (That may mean they didnt vote for leon or it means his phonelines were jammed aswell) |

Not me personally although I know a couple that did and never managed it. Funny how more Rhydian fans complain about not being able to get through, but Leon has more votes

Perhaps the Leon fans are trying to make a point.
