Too much to ask?

So we have 2 very good celebrity dancers dancing 5 dances each.

We know (because they told me so)that the production team feel they have to 'enhance' the dancing with swirly shots, bumping into people and running across the action......

But for once in the series...is it too much to ask that we see all the dancers from head to toe for the whole dance?
It's only 90 seconds...restrain yourselves

I think 5 dances is too much, maybe they should of just done 3.

short answer: yes.

that would be far to much to ask

Apparently so. I think they give the cameraman a lot of sherbert and put him on rollerskates - it's the only explanation for some of those shots, which don't emphasise the dancing in any way, shape or form!

I was recently watching the DVD that Natasha and Brendan bought out after Series 1 and on it they have some SCD 1 highlights - their actual dances and one thing that I realised whilst watching it was how much better the camera work was during the first series.

Most of the time you could see the dancers from head to foot with only one, maybe two swirly shots during the entire dance. Shame the BBC decided that we all really wanted mad, vomit inducing, swirly shots during every dance instead of just focussing on the dancers and allowing us the same view as the judges and studio audience.

Maybe to ensure Alesha wins. I dont think Matt could cope with 5 dances

I believe that they had five dances last year too, when there were only two in the final. maybe if there had been three as there should have been they would only have had to do 3 dances. It was 3 finalists and 3 dances in Series 3 I believe.

So nothing to do with trying to ensure Alesha wins, that is a malicious remark really, it would have been 5 dances no matter who was in the final they have to fill the time up with something.

Yep, 5 dances is because there are only two finalists - stupid, but it seems (two years running) it's the best contingency plan they can come up with for a 2 person final.

Nowt to do with Alesha, same format as last year.

Actually when I think about it, series two and three both had four dances in the final- Ballroom, Latin, VW and Showdance. For series three it was effectively five dances in the final week, because they were also learning the routines for the Xmas Special which was filmed the following Monday- I remember Darren saying in the final ITT that they had been doing four dances, or five if you count Christmas (I don't imagine anyone put too much emphasis on those routines, but then they were longer than the half dance they have to do for Judges' choice).

And to the OP- yes it would appear that for some reason it is too much to ask
