For a moment there I thought you meant real beer! I'm a lover of RCH Pitchfork, Talylors Landlord amongst others

Actually it's only been in the past 7 years or so that I've got into real ale - before that I was happy to drink nitro keg lager. Do keep trying the Belgian beers - especially the wheat beers, they can be delicious.

I like lagers mostly, don't mind an ale however.
One thing I can't stand is that uber-expensive "white" lager that tastes and smells like it's gone off and people go on about it like it's amazing because it costs over three pounds a pint. Ughhh... Who's with me? I can't recall the names but a few varieties exist, I think Kronenbourg recently started doing one. What is that type of beer called? |

Witbier, white beer, sometimes wheat beer. Hoegarden being the most popular.
Yes that's the stuff, to me Hoegarden smells like it's gone off. It's slightly too fruity for my taste and I just can't see the attraction. Can anyone tell me if you develop the palate for it or is it a love it or loathe it thing? |

My current favourite beers and have been for sometime are the St Peter's Brewery ales from good old Bungay in Suffolk. The ginger and lemon beer they do occasionally is the finest summer beer I have tasted. |

I love the different Foreign Lagers, although I normally drink Fosters or Carling as it's cheaper. Cusquena is one of my favourites at the moment and Zywiec is nice, especially in Wetherspoons.

when Im "on the lash" I normally end up on Tuborg. Gets me nicely toasted. At home I tend to drink Zywiec (Poland), Speights (New Zealand) or Tooheys New (Australia). Last time I was in Chicago I was drinking a Goose Island brew called 312. Its a wheat ale with citrus flavours and really sweet and flowery. Unfortunately its not available anywhere over here. Boo!!!

I only like Budweiser........has to be ice cold & straight from the bottle. It doesn't taste the same when it's in a glass.

I had a fair bit of it while I was in Germany and I quite liked it. At first it was rather odd, but after a few pints, or rather a few 1.5 pint glasses, it tasted okay.
Maybe everything does after that much? ![]() ![]() But yes I may try it again, so many people can't be wrong. |

I'd say it was a misspent youth but it's more a misspent life.

The ginger and lemon beer they do occasionally is the finest summer beer I have tasted. I noticed people often have half pints of it though sometimes that's because it's very strong. I may have a go at that ale, though it's not exactly summery right now. |

Gotta admit though the Polish lagers are exceptionally good and Weatherspoons were doing a very good Lithuanian brew last time I went. |
