Surely he's winding the newspaper up there? The BBC wouldn't go for him would they?

The day an ex-criminal with a title appears on SCD is the day I turn off. Humph.

I was hoping that this would turn out to be cricketer Andrew Strauss whose dressing room nickname is "Lord Brocket", instead it's some chinless halfwit I don't even remember from IACGMOOH.

Bet he all ready knows his way round the dance floor, these toffs that's all they ever learn to do as kids.... That and exploit the workers.

I remember him on that bad lads army extra show a couple of years back seemed OK, so why not.. And make a change from the usual soap refugees and sportsmen with dodgy knees.

And we could run a couple of books on how long it took a judge to call him, the number of times or even who called him 'Lord of The Dance' first or the most.

Oh my sides are splitting at the thought all ready.

he might be an ex-criminal but it's not as if he murdered anyone just tried to rip off his car insurance company - now if they asked Leslie Grantham I could understand your concern

Well he's just a cretin anyway - prefer not to see him on scd regardless

He'd more than likely be involved with some phone voting scandal then.

We keep on getting stories along the lines of "XXXXX wants to appear in yyyyyyy", and that is all that they are, stories, probably designed to raise someone's profile or to fill a few column inches on an otherwise slow news day.

The reality is the BBC interview loads and loads of people. Of course then the afterwards they go 'i was asked to appear on strictly' when the actual truth is they were just asked to go for an interview.

Clicky.

(Interestingly, he's not "Lord Brockett" at all - it's "Baron" and there's only one "t".)

Phwooaaaar, I wish Straussy would go on Strictly...but that would mean his international career would have ended, so not too soon, eh?

the Judges were on the Jonathan ross show last friday and asked him (JR ) to be in the next series of SCD!

Excellent! Perhaps Jeffrey Archer and Jonathan Aitken could take part as well.

Wossy would be good with Erin

What about Jason Donovan, he and Lilia would be good

Perhaps the news story is complete rubbish, and someone just made it up to get Jamelia off top spot in the news stories!

BTW I would never in a million years let Rossy dance with Lilia, he would perv all over her, he needs to be with someone who would keep him in check like Karen or Nicole, or Erin, anyone, but Lilia, Ola or Flavia!

It would be like pairing Anton with Louisa Lytton, (like someone dancing with their dad!)

God, I hope not. There've been enough zero-talent celebs this season.

I suspect he's talking rubbish, after all he's a convicted fraudster, so probably not exactly reliable.

But just imagine the threads on dodgy voting patterns/bottom two that would emerge

Lord Brockett would be good value. He doesn't seem to take himself too seriously so he might be quite funny.
