Kebabs: Drunk or sober?
Personally I love a nice (mainly shish) kebab whatever state I am in but I hear so many stories of people only being able to eat them when they're drunk. What's that all about? A good kebab is lish.

God, i haven't had a kebab in about 7 years....(since I was a student heh).
They're just the best things to eat when pissed. All that grease is lush....but only when drunk

I have this theory that alcohol actually prepares the taste buds for a Donner.
![]() Saying that, I haven't had one since being served by a balding Greek guy in Enfield who was dribbling into the salad bar.

We have a really good quality Turkish chippy not far from us and they do an amazing Doner. Loads of fresh lettuce, cabbage, onion, tomatoes, loads of nice lamb and a toasted pitta finished with some red hot chilli sauce and garlic yoghurt.
I think they get bad press as people who want one as a stodge filler after a night on the lash aren't particularly bothered about quality as long as it's hot, fatty and quick. |

I don't like kebab meet unless there's alcohol in my system. Don't have to be drunk but some alcohol is a must.
I've had some for lunch after leaving some the night before a couple of times and it was rotten! |

I don't eat much kebabs anymore, as some times the meat has been stone cold, while the rest is hot.I used to love it though.I would get kebab meat and chips special everyday after work, with chilli sauce

I had a great Kebab in Naan last night while very drunk, not sure whether it would have been good sober, but suspect it might have been.

I have never had a kebab cuz the meat just looks gross to me and the kebab shops I see always look like they should be closed by enviornmental health!

It depends on the 'bab house really...
My local, I'm happy to use sober. there's another the other end of town that I'd only use when pissed , assuming I can be persuaded to go into it in the first place

I used to only really eat doner kebabs when I was drunk (used to remember waking up on a Saturday morning and looking at my jeans/shoes that I had worn the night before to find there was all fat & chilli sauce down them).
I now eat them sober as well, but I only usually have them maybe once every 3 months. |

I can only eat Kebabs when drunk! Once I stayed in a hotel with an ex in the middle of no where and had a kebab for dinner as there was no other place to get food! It was absoloutely disgusting!! But when drunk, mmmmm! Esp with garlic mayo!!
Dont ask me why, i have no idea! |

Neither, thanks! Rancid things, they are.
Meat processed to the point it tastes like chewy plastic, soggy salad and greasy pitta bread. Give me a proper Greek kebab over the chip shop crap any day.

Kebabs are great for a quick meal. I love them. I get mine from the Indian resturant. They are spicy and to die for.
