Alternative Puddings
I love Christmas pudding but as an alternative I make a cheesecake. My favourite one is a recipe from Phil Vickery from This Morning programme. He does his with apples but I have made the basic cheesecake and had all sorts of toppings on.
His recipes are on This Morning website. James Martin also makes scrummy puds.

When it comes to having a pudding on Christmas day, I prefer to have a trifle instead of Christmas pudding, due to the fact it doesn't taste as rich.

Last year I made individual steamed sponges with homemade mincemeat stirred through the sponge mix, so it was kind of like a light xmas pud

You could have the traditional dessert - Wall's Vienetta, as they do on 'The Royle Family'.
