Ok Folks within a few days, we are gonna be stuffing our faces as tis the season to over indulge .

Now minus the chocolate, mince pies, christmas cake / pudding, twiglets etc etc, I am interested to know what those are having instead of Turkey.

Reasons could be

Like me you only like certain parts of the Turkey and even then get bored with it after a couple of meals.

You could be veggie or vegan.

Or you could be 1 of the few that are worried about the so called carbon footprint left from cooking a turkey & the evil cranberry sauce as recently posted on various websites

I have bought a muther of a whole Scottish Salmon which I plan to roast with various herbs and other stuff.

So how about it folks what are you burning for XMAS ?

We had salmon last year. This year we're having prawns and Moreton Bay Bugs, with salad and potato bake followed by summer fruits trifle.

Those prawns wouldn't have been put on the barbie by any chance.
There is some amazing seafood in Australia tho

I like chicken but can't stand turkey. We are eating out and I'm having beef.

I'm not so keen on brussels either. My OH doesn't like Christmas pud much.

It only leaves mince pies and he likes the sausages in bacon.

I've bought a lovely peice of Rib of Beef for a change. Looking forward to it, none of us really like Turkey as a roast, but I do like it cold.
I've bought just a small peice of butter basted Turkey so we can have cold cuts on Boxing Day. Yum!

I never have turkey... this year I'm having Venison. I was in Italy last year and eat an enormous amount of food in a never ending series of courses I can't remember most of what I had.. but none of it was turkey.

Year before I had goose

We absolutely loathe turkey in our family. We tend to have a nice free range chicken for Christmas roast each year. Much nicer.

We're having turkey and beef as well as the traditional sausages in bacon But I do agree, turkey is very dry and chicken is nicer.

Hate the stuff!
Eating it is like trying to chew & swallow cardboard.
Last year we had duck with black cherry sauce.
Maybe we will have beef this year.

Has goose suddenly become popular this year? I don't remember hearing so much about it before.

Poor Goose I don't know how people could think of eating such a beautiful bird.

Very rarely do turkey. Did venison last year. Think we'll have duck this year.
