I suppose something has to be done. It is not Leons fault either.

I think what is long overdue is a full explanation of how the voting system actually works. I personnally don't think that there has been any fix or that the system has shown any particular bias, but that is only because of the explanations given by other posters about how the system probably works. If you aren't party to that explanation, it makes perfect sence to query how come Leon could have won when people couldn't get through to vote for Rhydian and no, lots of people not able to get through to vote for Leon is not sufficient info as if there were dedicated lines for each act, this would mean that it was a pure lottery who won. Whereas, if as some are saying there weren't dedicated lines for each act, the votes cast for each act are more likely to be proportionate to the number of attempts for each act.

It's news to me.

I believe as voter we should be given the exact number of votes each act receives every week, not the percentage. Maybe the phone lines need looking into also

Thanks for the link Olga. So Rhydian has received a letter of support from Gordon Brown, dont get any better than that, especially as Gordon is a Scott

WHOOPEE! Now we can find out how many gullible idiots voted! Trouble is it will only provide the number of phone calls. So judging by some comments ive seen, divide that by about 10 to get the number of stupid people with more money than sense! Though I suppose its a free country and if they want to waste their money, its up to them. IDIOTS!

must be confusing, as Leon fans have constantly claimed that 'Scotland' voted for him. GB is probably the first high-profile Scot to come out as a Rhydian fan.

Any by-elections coming up in Wales?

you might find that you disappear from the board for 48 hours for that comment - I did for less...

...not that I agree wholeheartedly

We all pay to go to the pictures to see the film of our choice.

Therefore I equate my vote as paying to see whomsoever I want on the prog next week.

I understand , but if you were appointed a Judge for Emmy's or Oscars or BAFTAs - wouldn't you expect to have a responsibility to vote for what is more deserving of the particular awards?

Big Brother is the place to vote for 'personality' - XF is supposed to be a singing competition, isn't it?

But you have to accept in that case that the voter can vote for who they think is the best singer, they are not voting for who is the best technical performer. You may think Rhydian was the best, but there are many people who do not like or appreciate the classical voice and prefer a more "normal" voice. (Sorry for that description - I cannot think of a way of describing it better) After all, how many people voted for Hope?

As to the Sun story - I would agree that it would be best to get the figures out in the open and resolve the issue once and for all. I would, however, ignore their ballot results - 20,000 against 7,000,000+ votes. I am sure that the Sun was greatful for the profit it made on the 20,000 phone calls it received!

I would say it is VERY relevant as Ofcom have now demanded that ITV hand over the voting figures

My point too, I would not vote anyone this person would have to tick all the boxes.

Obviously Rhydian did
Therefore I voted for him.

I don't really care about all this voting business, but I hope they release the figures for the whole series, just for curiosity's sake.

Simon Cowell cares about only one person - himself. If this fix stuff gets out of hand & it in anyway jeopardises his standing with ITV/Michael Grade he will distance himself from the key figure in it. He is not going to let anyone take him down & will come out fighting & slay them without a second thought. Rhydian or his future mega bucks deals with ITV - no contest.

Maybe they will take away his winning status and give it to Rhydian on Christmas eve!
