Quote: Stephen Green, said: "The Doctor would have to do a lot more than the usual prancing around to be a messiah. He has to save people from their sins."

It's a shame Stephen Green doesn't spend more time contemplating his own sins than obsessing about the imagined sins of other people.

Didn't RTD say at the press launch he wanted Hitler or Julie Goodyear? Perhaps Jesus sits somewhere between the two.

They could save a packet on the CGI though.

The main question is how the religious group have managed to see the episode before it's aired?

Well everyone else has been in the frame at some point. Why don't we wait until DT announces that he is going to speculate further?

I'm not sure people care about Christian Voice. Stephen Green is an easy hit for lazy reporters wanting a controversial comment on a story that isn't really a story at all. All the Christians I know don't like Green and feel he gives them a bad name.

It's great, isn't it?
Once again a religious group gets upset about an item of fiction! Says it all.

The DS headlines kinda misleading. It says "Christian Groups" when it is one 'group', of two or three people, who famously do this with TV shows (remember the 'Jerry Springer: the Opera' debacle - that was them) and other things.

Seriously, these guys are nutters,

From their Wiki entry:
Quote:
“

On 24 June 2005, Christian Voice's bankers, the Co-operative Bank, told the organisation to take its account elsewhere as Christian Voice's homophobic stance was in conflict with the bank's policy of support for diversity. In response, Christian Voice have issued a statement calling for Christians to boycott the Co-operative Bank.

Shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in August 2005 killing over 1600 residents, Green issued a statement claiming that this was the result of God's wrath and had brought "purity" to the city, even though several Bible colleges were gutted while the gay-favoured French Quarter suffered only minor wind damage and flooding.

On 2 September 2006, Green was arrested while handing out anti-homosexual leaflets at the Cardiff Mardi Gras. He was detained for four hours, and charged with public order offences.

In 2007, the group issued a press release dismissing as a "tarts jab" a new vaccine, Gardasil, against the human papilloma virus, which is responsible for cervical cancer amongst other illnesses.
”

Utter mentalists. Stephen Green is not representative of anyone or anything. He and his mates don't deserve the attention DS, or this thread is giving them.

As I recall, he was once on the BBC1 Question Time panel representing Christians and was - obviously - vile and disgusting.

It lead to complaints from Christians and Christian groups who were furious that such a person (representing a group with very few members, in actuality) had been selected to 'represent' the Christian faith.

It lead to a high level BBC review and change of policy over how Question Time guests are selected.

I am a church-going Christian and I find his brand of "Christianity" somewhat alarming. Please don't tar us all with the same brush!

Anyway, Jesus was a traveller in time and space.......

In 'Voyage of the Damned' The Doctor, played by David Tennant, saves a ship from a meteorite storm and persuades the passengers of his magical powers.

Did Jesus save Noah's Ark from a meteorite storm in space?

I mean if this is the true version I may have to alter my stance on religion. As this version sounds far more entertaining?

Have I been lied to all these years?

Where in space did he go?

Unfortunately, every religion has it's people who hold extreme views. This bloke venting so much anger towards homosexuality, only suggests to me that he's probably got something to hide and perhaps struggles to " be himself"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......!

(Would it be inappropriate to point out that the term 'Messiah' is actually from the Jewish faith and used to describe their saviour, of Israel?)

Gotta love those extreme religious types!!! If we still listened to what they said, the Sun would still revolve around the Earth....

I'm a person belonging to the Christian faith too and I'm going to join with the person who said it earlier: don't throw us all in together. Christian Voice are a difficult bunch of people with extreme and intolerant views. I wouldn't pick that man's nose.

And as for Jesus: yes, he's a traveller in time and space.

The statement was the Christian Voice equivalent of Britney baring her shaved knackers in public. "Ooooh gimme attention please please please!!!"

Look on the good side: it will get the good ol' Doctor more exposure in the news again.

Besides, at least we know that Doctor Who is fiction.

That's Christians for you. Like the man said, religion is the time-wasting opium of the masses.

And why do they persist in dragging religion into Christmas...?
