now I'm even more confused - I was actually saying that Len's comment that Matt should have gone was hardly earth shattering - basically because he waited until virtually everyone involved with strictly, all the forums and the media had said it - and then has basically said it's the publics fault for not voting Matt out

Yes I do get what you were saying. I just thought your tone and the smiley was a little abrupt, considering that this hasn't been a combative thread so far.

But never mind

Let's just all point and scowl at Len.

Len's just making excuses he knows the public don't like him.[/quote]

I resign as a member of the public then, cos sorry what has happened on a number of occasions this has proved exactly what Len has said.

Just how else can anyone explain a Gabby/Penny dance off? Matt being saved after his attack of amnesia. The quarter final dance of being the two women left in the dance off.

I thought that was interesting.

It sounds like if Matt had been up against Letitia on his bad week, he would definitely have gone if Len had had anything to do with it, despite his arguably better track record. So yes, it's the GBP's 'fault' that he went on another week.

In the semis I get the impression that the judges voted on what they saw on the night, and, again arguably, thought that Matt did better than Gethin. (And yes that was inconsistent because they'd definitely not voted just on the performance on the night in previous occasions).

As for the bit about the middle-aged women, I think all at the BBC came to the conclusion that the voting public doesn't vote for beautiful women because of what happened to Zoe, Emma, Gabby etc. What they didn't factor into the equation is that all of these women were also INTENSELY IRRITATING. I think it will be very different now that the GBP is finally presented with a woman who is not only beautiful but warm and very funny.

And also very overrated, I thought, in the case of Emma Bunton.

A very good point indeed.

Craig was on Radio 5 Live this morning, talking to Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty. Ms Fogarty seemed to think that Matt would win.

Oh no, the reason you don't like them can ONLY be that you're a a jealous middle aged woman.

I think this week we really saw one of the downsides (as if there weren't plenty already) in that the dance that scored higher was improved in the dance-off; the better scoring dance wasn't performed as well the second time round.

I think one of the biggest problems with this article is that it doesn't allow for people to vote for personality, to vote during the week when it looked like it would be a good dance, etc. Instead, we're meant to blindly follow the lead of the judges.”

Philip Jackson said Matt was not as good in the dance off and Gethin was better , bit confused by this comment ., I have probably misread it . Or do you mean :the dance that scored LOWER was improved in the dance-off
I am a bit amazed at this article to be honest , certainly for the comments about Gethin and about us fish supper bloated women

I will be voting for Alesha , and I too am over 30 !
I have voted for Gethin but never Matt .

They slate Matt and yet still believe he deserved to get 40?
They never gave Alesha or Gethin 4 10s (or a standing ovation) so they must believe Matt did a better dance then the other 2 ever have or in fact that any couple in SCD have ever done outside the final?
The judges confuse me.

I'm a Matt fan, but I'd like the following points to be known for the record:

I love Alesha.

I've NEVER eaten a fish supper

I can't remember the last time I had one kitkat, let alone four

I'm not middle-aged.

Good point - can we do a mini poll here? has ANYONE, regardless of age or gender, ever eaten four kit kats in a row followed by a fish supper? I definitely haven't.

I think you will find the real "hatred" started Sat. night. It's the stupid voting system that allows individuals/betting syndicates multiple votes that brings the program into disrepute. People are NOT encouraged to vote for the best dancer only their FAVOURITE. Len could have put one injustice right but didn't. Rumour has it Camilla gave him a dig in his pickled walnuts.

I have to own up to being a middle aged woman who has a soft spot for Matt but will still probably vote for the stunning Alesha because she's the better dancer, so no jealousy there thanks.
I have my KitKats and fish supper (large portion) on order already, and am planning to wear my best elasticated waist skirt to make space for it.

I've been training my right bingo wing to phone Matt's number to leave my hands free to hold my chocolate and pies and cakes.

what IS a fish supper? is it fish and chips? or something a bit more complex; like salmon en croute? or perhaps even a lobster thermidor? does it go with pickled walnuts, or is that more of a 'amuse-bouche' beforehand?

I never thought of doing that.

Could you show me how ?

Why vote for a pretty young woman with talent when I could lust after somebody young enough to be my son
(with imo zero sex appeal)

I'm too busy eating to have a sensible opinion of my own

I think Len was trying to say, to stay focused and objective, you can have 4 kitkats and one fish supper only after voting. Before voting only pickled walnuts are allowed.
