And donuts, if Brendan is there.

Is having a Turkey and Venison pie for dinner as bad as a fish supper ??

It depends on whether you eat it or your toy boy.

How about we share it

You mean eat the pie from both ends and meet in the middle? There had better be a hole in the middle, or in our haste we would eat each other.

Len should definitely be kicked off the show for these comments, what is the system for taking back all the phone votes that Tess has pleaded that you make on behalf of your favourite when you discover that your favourite has messed up and doesn't deserve another week?
I'm a Matt supporter by the way, middle aged, very keen on fish and chips but slimmer than Alesha who I happen to think is one of the nicest people they have ever had on the show.

I'm fairly sure I haven't... feeling the urge to now, though, except that I hate kitkats...

I'm guessing the latter - can't see fish and pickled walnuts complementing each other.

I am a bit amazed at this article to be honest , certainly for the comments about Gethin and about us fish supper bloated women

I will be voting for Alesha , and I too am over 30 !
I have voted for Gethin but never Matt .”

Ooops, made a whoopsie! Yup, meant to say that the better scoring dance (Matt's Waltz) wasn't as good as first time round, whereas Gethin's improved on the second performance.

Oh, and I don't eat Nestlé. Been years since I ate a Kitkat.

Quite a good article. Interesting to hear the judges' different perspectives.

I thought so too, but I think we're in the minority after seeing the reaction to it.

It's the usual lazy fallback cheap dig, isn't it? All middle-aged women envy Youth (especially beautiful youth) when really:

Len willfully ignores the fact that for most viewers 'boys' like Mark Ramprakash and Colin Jackson (and Darren Gough...?) showed talent - and charm - and were rewarded for it..... But wait: perhaps it was because Colin is really a pretty young woman that he lost out...?

Nothing wrong with the article. The objections have been aimed at Len's stereotypical view of the tastes of middle-aged women .

As an overweight middle aged female Alesha supporter I did not find anything remotely offensive in this article.

Some people seriously lack a sense of humour and perspective.

Oh come on!! There's no anger on this thread, it's all tongue in cheek! i've been enjoying it all afternoon....

The article also gave sufficient insight into the judges' relationships with each other to make Bruno's hysterics on ITT just now(about Len's lovely hat) really funny And I'm loving the outtakes to Cliff Richard...

I think you'll find some of the posters are true blue Len bashers and only a couple are tongue in cheek jokers.

It's not only the BBC that's reached that conclusion. It's a common observation in many places, not least in these forums.

That just raises the question of why some people find them "intensely irritating". I don't think they are objectively any more intensely irritating than many other people who don't get that reaction in forums. In the other direction, I assume you mean Alesha as the one who is beautiful, warm, and funny; but it wouldn't be that hard to find her irritating with her laugh and the way she flicks her hair about.

You got booted off for being extremely provocative in the Matt appreciation thread I think.

I found this generalisation and stereotyping both insulting and totally uneccessary.

And I have usually been keen to see the best in Len

"Are viewers tougher on the more gifted women dancers? Len sees a "scenario" he says. "I would imagine far more middle-aged women than middle-aged men vote. I imagine them looking at Matt [and thinking] 'a bit of eye candy, a hunky young dude'. And they look at Alesha and they are sitting there eating their fourth KitKat and they've just had three square meals and a fish supper, all bloated out, and they go 'Bugger her, I'm not voting for that.'"”

I totally agree!

I've just read the whole article, and was quite disgusted by that comment!

We are looking at the dancing quality, we just don't go totally OTT over certain of their *faves* as they do every year.
