I wonder what the exit song will be?

I assume it will be a different one for Nancy and Oliver

I got 6, but 2 of them were lucky guesses . To be fair - I've never seen Oliver

I hope its not going to be on at the same time as ER, it'll have to be really really good to get me to miss ER!

Consider Yourself is popping into my mind but I don't know how they'd do it.

Perhaps the nancys can do 'As long as 'e needs me'
as um they're not needed anymore.

Close every door was atear jerker and so long farewell is light hearted depends which way they want to go this time.

I'd do anything would be a more fun choice.

Interesting bit of background linking ADWD with this new show; Chris C played Oliver in Cameron Mac's touring show in Leicester for three months over the Xmas period 2000/01.
Nancy was played by Linzi Hately ( narrator when Jason Donavan was Joseph) and later by Sally Ann Triplet. Just 11 at the time Oliver was Chris C's first taste of musical theatre!

Thanks for that info Viewtalk. It's really nice to hear background information about the boys. I can just imagine Chris as Oliver. Bet he was a wee sweetie! He must have been very good at 11 to be noticed by Cameron MacKintosh.

I feel quite dejected at the thought of them moving on from ADWD (although it had to be done sometime). Honestly, ADWD was just my life!

I'll probably end up watching a couple of I'd do Anything's, but I can't say I'm geared up to see it or anything. Bizarrely, I missed the audition stage with Joseph (the very first show) and am going to do the same with Oliver, as I'm going out Saturday night.

I read in The Sun yesterday that Zoe Tyler and Bill Kenwright have both been dropped from the judging panel? How true is this? I believe at least one of them has been dropped, what with them bringing that new Cameron guy in.

I've never seen Oliver, so maybe that's why I don't really care either way. Also, I find watching children on reality tv shows a bit uncomfortable, and I very rarely like shows consisting just of women (shallow, me? Never ). I was suggesting to my friend earlier that they should do a search for "Che" in Evita - now that I would watch!

Cameron Mackintosh is the new producer but will not be part of the panel until the semi-finals and finals. Bill Kenwright wouldn't be taking part anyway, as he isn't the one producing it (in the same way that David Ian was judging Grease, because he was producing that, instead of Joseph). I don't know why Zoe Tyler isn't back on the panel this time.

Maybe because she is a little bit 'rubbish'

Its Barry Humphries who seems to be the new judge - Dame Edna.

I wonder if Zoe is still doing their vocal training?

Not looking forward to this, I'm not sure whether I'll watch it, or not.
I've never really been a fan of Oliver.

I must say, I agree with you, there.
But Joseph is, and always has been, my favourite musical.
If I could sing and act and dance, better than I do, I would definitely thrive to be in it.

Well I have seen Oliver in the West end a very long time ago and it is a feel good show like Joseph so i will probably watch this (well John barrowman is still there!) but it won't be the same.

Yes - he has been in productions of Oliver in the past - most recently as Fagin.

Maybe whoever the vocal coach is, is taking a behind the scenes approach this time!!

I'd love to be in Joseph too ... sadly, singing isn't my strong point, so I can't see it ever happening

I totally felt like that after Maria. I fricking loved that show and was a big fan of the Sound of Music. As a musical, Joseph doesn't do a whole lot for me. I wasn't even gong to bother watching ADWD. But I did. And I loved it even more

I'm so excited about IDA Oliver really is a fantastic musical, far better than the previous two. I'm hoping they focus on Nancy more than Oliver, because I share your squeamishness about children on these kind of shows. Nancy is a truly brilliant role. I almost auditioned actually. I wonder if the first two shows will have me feeling a bit regretful that I didn't. (Not that I imagine I would have made it to the live shows, but just to be a part of the whole experience.)

The BBC site does state the the Olivers wont be in a public vote the show will just track the progress of them and occasionally they will perform for ALW on the live show.

Its just nancy who is going for a public vote system.

Yeah, the dropping of Bill and Zoe is interesting. Well, actually, less so Bill, because he isn't producing and this was the only reason he was on the panel last time. Also, he was total drivel as a judge (searching for a vomit smilie). Hopefully Mackintosh will have something more interesting to say.

But Zoe? Considering that she's been on board right from the beginning? I wonder if there was some tension between her and Andrew last time around. They're both a bit prone to playing favourites and last time around, they weren't backing the same horse. I thought it was a bit obvious in the final of Joseph that she had been warned not to say anything very harsh. She could have laid into Lee (and I'm sure she really wanted to) but she didn't.

I'll miss her in an odd way. I hated her and all, and she could be a total cow, but I felt the bitchiness added to the show. Maybe ALW though she'd be too harsh for the little Olivers?
