Panasonic TV (CT32G4) Child Lock removal needed

Please help. Someone put a code in the TV and hit the "always" mode. Attempts to use the factory reset fix by holding the off switch and another one in the front panel, failed to release the lock. Panasonic support and the owners manual require the TV is taken to a repair center. This is neither economical or practical. The TV signal reception is fine when used through a VCR but the child lock comes on shortly after it is turned on. I do not want to have to throw a perfectly good TV away.
In the spirit of ecology and X-Mas, can anyone remove this child lock out there, please.

This is a UK-Based forum and we don't see the same models over here so I doubt you'll find an answer here.

I still have faith in the Brits.
