Xfactor Memories
I've been running my mind over the last series, as we don't have Xfactor to look forward to on Saturday.
The things I remember good and bad from the last series were:- Auditions The overweight girl with the dress her Dad had made. It was such uncomfortable viewing and I still feel guilty about being a witness to that ridiculing of the delusional. the bot where one of them asked who had made her dress made it ten times worse. The fact that the family didn't know that they were being laughed at makes me feel better and orse at the same time. The group made up of two married couples who couldn't accept not getting through and one of them in tears saying how much she admired Simon and wanted him to tell her the truth. It was painful. The woman who was a Shaking Stevens fan. She couldn't sing but she was just thrilled to have been part of it and Simon was really nice and unpatronising with her. She got her photo taken with him and said that it was the best day of her life. The Japanese girl who couldn't sing but was so sweet and I was glad they were nice to her. The guy that they told to come back in a frock and he did! Rhydian singing that weird song and then accepting the challange with Dancing Queen. I was hooked in terms of interest from that moment. Niki and the story about her Dad. Yes I think we got it served up to us too much since (and I think thatNiki was probably not most to blame). I was moved by it at the time. SD's manic performance where they were told that they needed to tone it down and they promised they would but I as saying to myself "there isn't a chance in Hell tbat you will" and they didn't. Leon's emotion and especially when he said that he was there on his own. Considering that so many of the delusional sad acts that were there with their entourages in tow, it did twang my heart strings and although I never really got into him as a singer, I had a soft spot for him from this point. Boot Camp the awfulness of Sharon's comments about Rhydian ![]() the groups being formed had me gripped the black girl who was wonderful in her audition and then lost it in BC. I was sooooooooo disappointed for her and hope she tries again Louis' reaction to his group ![]() The live shows Watching Sharon back pedal on her attitude to Rhydian (the jury ios out on how sincere it was but at least she did it) The things Hope were nearly wearing (actually that is just jealousy on my part) Watching the body language between the judges. What a Sweetie Dermot was to everyone Rhydian's perfomances Niki's Nothing Compares to You The end of Leon's Long and Winding Road. What is seered in anyone else's memory. Do they remember the things above in the way I did? Lets take a walk down Memory Lane

I just watched the first live show again, very interesting indeed when you know what happened in the end!
A few things struck me: - Futureproof really thought they were going to be huge, didn't they. Bless (not). - What on earth happened to Nikki? That first performance was so good and then it all seemed to go downhill - Leon as the underdog, just how cute is he - could they have been any bloody ruder to Rhydian ![]() Sorry, this isn't quite in the spirit of your thread, is it. I think one of my favourite moments, if not the favourite, is when Rhyd swings that fur coat at the judges and they all reel back. Genius

Genius ![]() Sure it is, it's memories ![]() I think overall I feel guilty about voting at all, when I remember the exploitation of people who are a sandwich short of a picnic. So I'm going to resolve not to vote again, just watch it. |

I wonder why they haven't released a 'Best and Worst' DVD this year?

Maybe they will yet, but you'd think they wouldn't want to miss the Christmas market.
