Some of the threads on here give the impression that if you like one you have to hate the other one. This is not true of course.

So anyone prepared to admit they straddle both camps or just like both.

I am a Rhydian supporter and I'm not going to pretend that I'm not amazed that he didn't win but I liked Leon (and indeed all the finalists) as a person and got nervous for him with some of his perfomances as I wanted him to sing well. He shows promise and I would be suprised if he disappeared without trace. Rhydian doesn't become less or more brilliant by any break that Leon gets or any abuse directed at him either.

So who else loves one and either loves or likes the other?

I think the vast majority of people who watched the X factor thought Leon and Rhydian were great. Although I preferred Leon I think Rhyd would have been a worthy winner.

PS I cannot believe that it has taken 4 hours for someone to reply - is liking both of these great singers not allowed.

I loved Leon, and respected Rhydian. I'm not a fan of popera, but Rhyd clearly has a great voice, and I did enjoy some of his performances (Get The Party Started, Phantom of the Opera, You'll Never Walk Alone spring to mind instantly). I wanted those two in the final.

I really liked Rhydian until he sang YRMU. I still think he's good, but I became bored by 'serious' Rhyd. I think it's drama Rhyd that has oooopmh.

Rhydian wanted to do an uptempo number for the final but the powers that be (Simon I reckon) decided on all ballads. I noticed that Leona got mostly (if not all) ballads last year. Simon's a right 'pipe and slippers' guy, isn't he?

I love Rhydian and although I don't really enjoy listening to Leon, I like him as a person, I'm happy for him, and I respect him.

I'm not a fan of either of them. Does that count?

Simon's a pain!!! I really can't be doing with the Harry Secombe hymn stuff. Hate it.

But....LGTPS was one of the real highlights of XF 4 for me. I just adored it. Hope Rhyd does that in the tour.

I've said for ages that I like both Rhydian and Leon - Rhyd was always my favourite but Leon wasn't that far behind

I like Rhydians voice but I think he was badly let down by his song choices on Saturday. He basically sang 3 ballads (4 if you include the winner's single) and as good as they were he lacked the "fun" factor. People know he can sing these songs brilliantly but it was when he sang Phantom or Get the Party Started or Go West that got people really excited. As ridiculous as it may seem, I think he suffered from being too good.

I agree, I think that one of Rhydians songs in the fianl should have been a slightly OTT perfomance and Get the Party started would have done it!

That's an interesting thought. I can see what you mean. At the start of the show the excitement was around what on earth would Rhydian pull out of the bag this time? Then it became a question of will Leon pull it off this week or not? Um, maybe should rephrase that

What I mean is, I still got excited for Rhydian but the anticipation over how Leon would do was just as great. So, on the final night when he did so well, it was fantastically good!
Even though Rhydian was brilliant, Leon had the wow factor from that perspective. It was ridiculous that Rhyd didn't do Phantom or something equally theatrical on the final night. So ridiculous you could even begin to suspect something..... kidding

I have a feeling some of the choices were for Simon's mother by personal request. She was sitting right behind him to his left and he sometimes turned to her after songs like Somewhere or BOTW. She even joined in the standing ovation for Somewhere.

Seriously? How ridiculous if so. This is the first x-factor I've watched fullly, only dipped in before now, but it seems to me that the same songs come up every year like BOTW, Can't live without you etc etc.
and at least one Westlife song. yawn yawn.
was it you who said Simon is a real pipe and slippers man ? it's very true.

Nothing wrong with pipe and slippers as long as you chance occasionally into your dancing shoes

I did actually like both of them until Rydians fans have been so mean spirited on here. It's really put me off buying Rydians music in the future.

Mmh, now why does that give me a vision of a sedate waltz?

I think Simon is probably a Dad at a wedding dancer. But he should care, what with his millions, gorgeous girlfriend and a good number of women willing to swoon at his feet.

I've always made it clear that I love all three acts in the final, a rare feat for me. I didn't mind who won.

I liked both of them but voted for Leon in the final. When it came down to it I liked Leon the best.

That's the problem both Leon and Rhydian face. Having people turn off them because of what some fans have been saying. Be your own judge - don't let other people put you off Leon and/or Rhydian.

I'm a fan of both. I like them almost equally. I voted Rhydian at the beginning of the final because on balance I thought he had been better throughout, but I must confess that at the end of the final I wasn't suprised Leon won as he was much better on the night
