I am outraged at how damn good M&S food is. I blame them for me maxing out my credit cards cos every time I go in there, even just to buy one thing, I end up buying loads of stuff.

Everything I have got from M&S food is perfect. Had some ready made carbonara and it was the best I've tasted. Some of the things I found exceptional are:

-Their sandwiches and vast choice of lunch stuff
-frozen oven chips. Best ever.
-organic shortbread, best I've ever tasted
-pasta dishes
-pizzas
-fruit jelly
-fajitas. Such good quality

Sorry to sound obsessive but I am in love with their stuff now. I have never been dissapointed with them.

I currently have a freezer drawer full of the little tubs of Clotted Cream and Vanilla, and the Belgian Chocolate ice cream.

I am also slowly eating them all.

I'm a big fan of M&S! I blame my mum, she always used to shop there and it's rubbed off on me! I love the quality of the fruit and veg, the juices are gorgeous too, not to mention the cakes!

I have to agree, I really can't fault their food at the moment. Except for the tasteless Jambalaya ready meal - yuk!

I don't like their french fry chips though - yuk, it was like chomping on little blocks of solid oil!

If you don't like a particular food from M&S - take it back and tell them. (I'd suggest nicely, rather than going mental.)

You will normally get a refund and a replacement, and they get feedback of what the customer does and doesn't like.

And obviously they take notice as their food is amazing.

What about their "fresh" turkeys all the way from Brazil? Nice, eh?

Only 2 types of pre-prepared turkey out of 32 available are from Brazil.

All the fresh birds are from Britain.

So, plenty of choice if you want to support British farmers.

Try working in a Simply Food and having staff discount to use after putting their gorgeous food through all day.... I put on weight when I go back to my vacation job there!

Don't forget Staff Waste at the end of the day! I think they limit the amount of pieces of protein you can have now, but it's still all dirt cheap.

I'm not sure if they have that in Simply Food, it might just be the main stores.

I think M&S Money used to be able to go to it too, but since they got taken over by HSBC, they're not allowed in now.

We exist on markies food at the moment. After having their stuff everything from anywhere else just seems so bland.

Their melting Chocolate Puddings are great, but generally everything you get from there is pretty fantastic.

I don't think I cold manage without M&S
It is without doubt the most glorious shop in Britain. Their food is delicious, no matter what you buy.

When M&S went through that bad financial patch a few years ago my husband and I bought shares in it because I couldn't bear the thought of them going under
Turns out that was quite a good idea!

M&S is Britian's flagship shop, and I *adore* it.

As I said in the other thread, they are vastly overpriced.

Just lately I've been addicted to the Edamame soy bean salad with coriander and chilli dressing, it's the most fantastically crunchy little pot of green goodness, I have to buy two every time I go in there.

Great food, but pricey.
My local safeway garage was converted into a Simply Food, and although the food is great, sometimes I just want something cheap.. a big bottle of Coke is almost £2 in there!
popped in to get a cheap Xmas card this morning and the cheapest was over £2

Sums it up really. If you can't afford it then eat sh!te.

Having written that it seems a bit naughty but I mean it kindly ... most people (according to statistics) buy at Tesco. The difference between M&S and Tesco is phenomenal but saving tuppence seems to be the driving force. Personally, I prefer to shop at local independent retailers and stick two fingers up to supershops. My local suppliers know me and give me what they know I like. Move away from Tesco ... every little helps.
