Andy is amazing! I've heard him singing since leaving the X Factor and his voice is very strong. He never got the chance to really show off his vocal skills on the show. He was treated as second best to someone else.

Daniel and Alisha early on. Rhydian late on.

Though sometimes you have to ask why acts aren't prepared to question song choices and arrangements more. Last year according to the vocal coaches, the only contestant prepared to was Leona.

Daniel... I had him down as an potential finalist. But his song choices were dire. That said, he sang terribly. Everything was off key.

Kimberley... she's not popstar material anyway, but it was still dire.

Stephanie Woods ... should have been top 12 instead of Emily

I feel like I should say SD because Simon loved Hope too much, but I can't really say what he did wrong with them. Lets face it, which popstar would actually want to duet with them? Not saying they are bad, just not what most acts would be looking for in duet partners. Song choices were good all through, maybe one week it was poor, the general image was well presented.

Andy was just too boring.

They were prepared to bend over backwards to Leona's demands. Quite rightly.

I don't think Rhydian was let down by his mentor until the final. The choice of duet partner was appalling. Even if Rhydian is a fan, he should have been warned against duetting with that whale in labour.

I agree with your assumptions of Simon and Louis.

I don't think Dannii was too "in love" with Rhydian at all. I think she, and others around the show, realised that Andy wasn't much cop pretty soon into the live shows (though he deserved to stay in over Beverley).

As for Sharon, she is just too in love with herself.

I was SO going to say that

Assuming that the mentors other than Simon have any power at all, I can safely say that the winner is Daniel. If that song wasn't an attempt to ensure his elimination, it certainly looked like it.

I don't agree that Futureproof or Andy were let down. Andy simply couldn't connect with the audience and had an average voice so would be dull whatever he did and Futureproof were only let down in that they were convinced that they would have any kind of success with the boy band format which simply is not popular any more.

I think Leon won in spite of Danni. of course cream always rises to the top

Alisha and Andy, They were wasted on the show, they had great auditions/bootcamp why? because they sang a song of their choices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alisha had 2 good songs out of 5, I love Sharon but i wish she'd of given her better songs because the girl had a wicked voice i really really think her songs didnt show the Alisha at audition its a shame.

Andy should of been given better songs i think dannii was way more for Rhydian than any of her acts tbh it was kind of obvious. Little Leon still shined through though

Daniel - in my opinion he shouldnt of been the final 3 he was boring, also i think louis wasnt really interested hence BMUB it was obvious he wanted him out, even Simon said Louis wasnt that bothered about him, poor guy.

Daniel. He had a lot of potential and with the right song choices could have made it to the final three.

Alisha wasnt stitched up. Week One, was a good song for her, she just didnt put anything different into it, week 2, Ok that was bad, week 3-5 were good though, and the last week she sang, she went out of tune, not Sharons fault.

Kimberely was let down, bad song, bad hair, bad makeup, didnt get a chance to show off what she could really do

Superstar i see where your coming from, But dreams doesnt really go anywhere does it, i liked how she sang it dont get me wrong i did but she can do so much more than that, Also say a little prayer i kind of liked, Valerie/PYRO was just wicked and Young hearts run free i dont know im still in 2 minds lol showdown was good though....

Yeah Kimberley was stiched up it was bad and she should of came back when Emily left it was a bit poor that they didnt let her.

Thing is, ifAlisha was stitched up by anyone it was producers. By not showing her earlier, she was in danger anyways, had anyone else (Emily or Daniel) did a performance like that they would be safe.

Yeah did you see her on the best/worst auditions i mean shes just amazing it was really unfair she hardly got shown so couldnt build up a fanbase as quick as others.

Emily was shown a hell of alot come to think about it.

Kimberley, definitely: wrong song, wrong outfit, dreadful staging, bad timing (OK that one's not Sharon's fault) and finally betrayed by being voted off by her own mentor.

I don't agree re Andy. For me he was exactly like Leon: possibly a nice voice buried in there, but Could.Not.Sing.In.Tune on the live shows.

Daniel really - I mean Build Me Up Buttercup??? Come on Louis, surely even you can do better than that!

Groups = Futureproof
Girls = Kimberley
Boys = Andy
25+ = Daniel

I think Andy and Daniel particularly suffered on the wrong song front

Definitely! He has a truly amazing voice. I have seen many of his live performances since leaving his show, and his vocals are a hundred times better than they were on the show - where he had vocal coaches there too to "advise"

I disagree tbh. Andy never assumed, or wanted to get thru on puppy dog eyes alone. He was given songs and worked hard to prove his worth as a singer rather than someone who was considered good looking only

Exactly! The best vocals Andy did was on I Cant Make You Love me from the bootcamp round - he chose it, and so was clearly comfortable with the song. I think if he had been able to sing this on the live shows, in the same way other acts eg leon and hope were allowed to sing songs they had previously sung, he wud have proved to the judges and the public that he was more than just good looks and that he has an amazing voice to boot

I was always amazed when Louis and Sharon (possibly Simon too, can't remember) declared Rhydian the winner during the competition itself. That wasn't very good mentoring for their own acts.

I love Louis during the auditions but can't bear him in the live shows.

I think he lets his acts down every year by making them so old fashioned.

This year he had the over 25's, all of whom were in their 30s yet he had them singing songs that were suitable for 55 year olds, not 35 year olds. I mean Niki got Bonnie Tyler FGS.

I thought Louis let his acts down before he even got them by throwing a hissy fit saying he didn't want the over-25's. Great confidence booster for them - NOT!

His introductory comments in the live shows were just so banal as well: e.g. She's from Luton, she's a singer, she needs your votes, she's singing a real song, she's called Bev.

Daniel and "Buttercup" - for me that's a song for a female vocalist anyway and I knew he would end up in the bottom two with it.

Andy was also given really boring songs for the most part which didn't do him any favours

The hair, makeup and costume people have a lot to answer for too, they ironed out anything interesting or individual and made the contestants almost unrecognisable in the live shows.

On the first show, poor Kimberley and Bev. They were awful.

I don't agree. I think she put Rhydian through under sufferance (ie at Simon's request) and her apathy towards him was thinly veiled. She would have rather had Andy get further in the competition and was more than happy to have any of her acts win.

Funny as far as I'm concerned because I don't think either Leon or Andy should have been put through to the live shows. Dominic and Luke should have instead.
