Firstly, is this thread/post makes me sound dim or a bit niave, then I'm most probably is!

If this years 'The X Factor' final was fixed, who would of beneifited from it?
If ITV, the production company behind 'The X Factor', or even the company behind the phone voting system, fixed the final result, exactly what would of they gained? Why would of they done it? Especially when Ofcom and the public were already cautious of such voting events, after all the recent phone scandals in the media over the last 6 months or so.

If it was fixed... Who decided that Leon should win? and why?
Why Leon? Why not Ryidian? Same Difference? or even one of the other finalists?

If it was fixed... When was it decided that Leon should?
If it was fixed then surely, who ever fixed it, knew who the winner would of been?

Or has this whole situation just got out of hand?
After all it is possible that there could have been technical problems with the phones lines, due to the high volume of calls being made.
Maybe, with the recent phone scandals over the last six months or so, people are still very uneasy about television programme's voting systems. Which caused a large number of complaints.

What do you think?

Have to admit my opinion is towards the latter, as I wouldn't think anyone involved with the voting system wouldn't dare risk any scams after the past six months.

Of course it wasn't a fix. Why would anyone want to fix the Factor - we are not electing the President of America.

Leon won by a clear 500,000 to 700,000 votes.

A number of Rhydian's fans just simply can't accept the reality of this fact (even though he has now got a record deal off Simon Cowell so the result was academic anyway). As a result Leon's week has been spoiled because a few people suffering from sour grapes have decided to cry fix with absolutely no evidence at all.

I certainly don't think it's fixed.
As we've seen, there were really only 70-odd people who genuinely wanted to complain before the media band-waggon got started and everyone hopped on for the ride.

Believe it or not, there are those who will always believe there is a conspiracy, no matter what evidence is presented against it. I've seen people on here saying that ITV are lying about facts in their subsequent press releases, despite knowing full well that OFCOM will be investigating it! Seriously, no joke!

So yeah, that's my opinion. There's no way they'd fix it and after all the nonsense this year (involving last years X Factor), they'll have had to iron everything out for this years show. The problems are simply down to a high number of calls causing the lines to be engaged.

Most Leon fans won't care because he won anyway, most SD fans will be fine too I imagine as they did come third and that was pretty much expected. The problem comes where each week Rhydian fans were made to think he would win - by the X Factor producers, Judges, some parts of the media and the bookies. So when the result came on Saturday, they will have been in a state of shock at losing something they had sort of taken for granted. In that situation, anything which will help their cause will be used. Hence more complaints from Rhydian fans.

I think it’s a real shame that this has cast a shadow over what should be a great week for Leon – the start of his new career. It’s clear also that Rhydian and his family are upset by the whole situation and wish it would just go away.

A speedy confirmation of the results would be the best option for everyone.
If it ends up going to some big long drawn out inquiry then it’s only going to be a waste of time and money… and let’s face it – by the time the investigation is concluded in September and the report published in October… who will really care anymore?

Good for you for thinking outside the box BUT this idea has been done to death, including by me two weeks ago.
