Leon and Rhydian Duet- When you Believe
Here's a video I found with Leon and Rhydian's versions of When You Believe in one video. Who do you think sounds better?

It's a hideous mix. They sound awful together.

I have to say I much preferred Leon's version - his voice is smoother and flows better during the song whereas Rhydian seems to over emphasise some of the words which I feel doesn't work for this particular song.
Its just my opinion - but Leon's version of this particular song was better and probably explains why he opened up that 10% gap in the end. |

The question is, though, why? Why is it necessary to do this? What's the purpose? Here is a lovely version of the song: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYi-w5GBU-U&NR=1 Why not mix that in as well? Let's compare that version to Mariah & Whitney. Which is best? Actually, seriously, can you do that? I am suddenly interested! |

The 10% gap was Scots block vote, silly little girls and, maybe ,trouble getting through to vote for the true winner.
I hate the way this thing has dragged on, but anyone who thinks that Leon can sing anything better than Rhydion must be tone deaf. I post that with all due respect to Leon. |

People's taste in music and singers is just that - a matter of personal opinion. I just preferred the way Leon sang When you believe - and just because I disagree with your personal viewpoint does not make me tone deaf! PS Leon got at least 3m+ votes on Saturday - quite a lot of 'silly little girls' and 'Scots' as you put it including my mum who is Irish and 60! |

Except the gap was opened before Rhydian got a chance to even sing a note - hence Simon's strange comments at the end of Rhydian's performance. Louis has said on radio it was 1% going into the last song and the same has been reported in the press. But it seems it was for the best, both have contracts and both are happy. Some things are meant to be.

To quote the great Eric Morecambe, Leon is singing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order

Leon struggled with the song in the final. It was pure singing by numbers.
The song was not right for either of the contestants. It's more suitable for the likes of Leona. |

I hated both versions. My computer is so rubbish I can't listen to the Mariah/Whitney version - is it any good or is the song just a complete turkey?
Must sort out a PC that works as it did strike me that maybe the only way the song could work and all the "vote fixing" moaning would stop would be to release it as a duet between Leon and Rhydian. That way, you would have Rhydian to cover the notes Leon can't hit and Leon to mellow out Rhydian's OTT theatrics. |
