I think you are forgetting that the first so-called interviews about a fix etc. were an absolute fabrication. At that point neither Rhydian nor his parents had spoken a word to the press. The following interviews were given to distance themselves from the complaints and to ask people to accept the result and they wished Leon well - and to deny that they had said such things. Their interviews are for Welsh media only because Wales happens to be interested in Rhydian - it was then made news in the national press. Leon's mother has spoken to the Scottish press on many occasions but it doesn't make the nationals for some reason.
It is debatable if Leon's mother has more class - she has, on occasions, felt it necessary to put Rhydian down in the Scottish press in the weeks leading up to the final - complained that his family didn't seek her out to congratulate her although they had greeted her every other week - but she didn't commiserate with them so it is six of one and half a dozen of the other. Then she slated Rhydian as being a bad loser based on the false stories. Is that showing more class - not in my opinion.

Louis and simon know that he is going to sell records otherwise they would never have given him the fantastic contract that they have given him.

ALW wants Rhyd to take the lead in Broadway Phatom, so ifthat is not world wide then I don't know what is.

He will be releasing an album, and will be singing on that album with a mega star who has asked to work with him.

Rhydian is aware of the 'realistic' mustic world, and knows what to do. Heisnot a puppet and will be getting some fantastic pr.

1) - Rhydian is doing himself no favours due to the comments he has been making to the press recently.

2) - LEON has suffered far more hatred and personal attacks from certain quarters than Rhydian ever has.

3) - Leon WON the competition and is world-class.

4) - Leon is happy for the chance he has been given by entering The X Factor. Rhydian should remember that if not for Dannii Minogue and The X Factor, he would still be an unknown.

He is of course eternally grateful to her. He gave an interview to Heat magazine where he answered questions truthfully. All he said about Dannii is that, although they got on well, he wasn't sure if she really likes him. No wonder considering her reaction after his audition - or maybe it was the way she was with him. He said he loves her. What is wrong with those comments.
It is not his fault that the Mirror stole the interview and twisted his words to make a more interesting title. If you read the article you will see that the eye-catching headline bears no resemblance to the content of the article.
He appreciated what she has done for him- unfortunately Simon took over after Go West and he could never be the showman again. It was not his wish and he expressed doubts about the song choices for the final, and rightly so.

MOney doth not maketh the man.

Both families regardless of their lack of or wealth are fantastic as they have both stood by their respective sons.

I think both families should congratulate themselves.

Class does not come into it.

What I don't get is why Leon's fans would still want to put down the contestant who finished second to him? Leon beat him, Rhyd finished second. Surely that means he isn't a threat or someone to get worked up about? It doesn't really make sense to me. Perhaps someone is going to come along in a while and explain it all in simple, easy to understand terms. I thank that person in advance.

Iagree with you. Rhydian has wished Leon luck and has said this is Leons week when asked about anything.

Rhdy is a gentleman

What comments are they?
That he loves Dannii and all she did for him but was never sure she liked him or understood him.
That he never said anything about a fix as he had not spoken to the press - he also said that although there appears to have been a technical fault it was probably the same for all three.

He really cannot be blamed for the backlash against Leon especially as he did not speak to the press until Wednesday or Thursday and then only to Welsh radio.

I find this even stranger. Firstly he gets slagged off for being too 'up himself' in the early stages, now he's admitting he loves someone but she doesn't actually even like him...and he's getting slagged for saying it. If he'd said, for instance, that he thinks Dannii fancies him but he's not interested, what would the reaction have been? Arrogant t***er etc? Poor bloke can't win whatever he says.

For a start, his comment that Simon told him that he was disappointed that he didn't win. There was no need for Rhydian to broadcast this in a live television interview (if it's true).

Possibly because there are rather a lot of Rhydian fans on this forum posting insulting and unpleasant threads about Leon - although they rarely respond by criticising Rhydian personally

My mum always brought me up to believe that honesty was the best policy. I'm assuming Mrs R preached the same mantra. It's hardly earth shattering news, you just had to look at Simon's boat race towrds the latter stages of Saturday's programme to realise that he wasn't really happy about anyone winning it except Rhyd.

So one comment then.

I actually wrote in another thread that I thought he perhaps shouldn't have said that, but I think that's his only slip up and in a way he was probably only telling the truth.

Since the end of the show and the news that Rhydian has also signed with Simon there seems to be a lot of people trying their hardest to put Rhyd down ... hmmm, I wonder why

She's been talking nonstop about him since she discovered his voice. She also told Radio One he was her favourite and she can also been seen now on The X Factor site talking about him. How he could doubt her feelings for him also falling apart when he sang, now that's beyond me...
Sounds like he's a bad loser.
He's got a great voice, but that's all there is to him unfortunately.

I don't know if he said that but if he did, it would have been better left unsaid - he is new to all of this and answers everything truthfully. However, it is not a big deal - Simon said he was disappointed Same Difference didn't win, he said it was fantastic Leon won and now he is allegedly disappointed that Rhydian didn't win.
However, I agree it was not the best thing to say but he will learn - and even if he said it, it is the only comment out of several hours of interviews that was not ideal. All the others have said silly things too - they will all learn - give them a chance.

We've been telling you this for weeks. On stage Rhyd is supremely confident, off stage he's very insecure, probably a reason why he responded to the leading questions he was clearly getting at the audition stage in the way he did - to try and cover up his basic insecurity - it's a common human behavioural trate.

I'm quoting this merely to illustrate the point that some Rhydian fans are heartily sick of off-topic,point-scoring,humour lacking posts.

Who knows what their relationship is like behind the scenes.

How is he a bad loser by saying that he doesn't think that Dannii gets him?

She has not been talking about him non-stop. She actually talked more about Leon although she tried to be fair. Rhydian lacks self-confidence and self-esteem and went into the competition knowing she disliked him at the audition - maybe he just wasn't sure.
But if you were to read the original article that the Mirror took this from, it was written before the final - he is asked questions about the 'upcoming final'. At that time the winner was not decided, so you cannot talk about a sore loser.

And I do not believe Danniii said he was her favourite - she would never say such a thing. You must have misheard her.

I agree. He's lacking confidence in who he is which is a shame. Slagging is a lack of confidence.
I really think he's got a terrific voice and I really believe that Dannii saw his potential the moment he became a part of Team Minogue.
He probably feels sort of betrayed of the fact that she was happy for Leon, but naturally she has to be, no matter who's her real fav. I also think that Leon is a very charming young man and I fully agree with the Sinatra comments.
Both boys are talented.

Liz get with the programme. If Rhyd thinks people like him it is because he is arrogant and if he thinks they don't it is because he is , well ,arrogant.

No,she did I've got that interview myself. I think you can find it on youtube. She was playing with a mind reader. He asked her is he was her fav and she replied yes

As for Dannii who I'm a huge fan of, she has been talking aobut him in lots of media articles, in Australia and to her fans. In fact, people here also accused her of talking to much about Rhydian, remember that?

He has not slagged anyone off - quite the opposite, he always praises everyone. He just said he wasn't sure if Dannii liked him, he felt they were on a different wavelength. But he said he loves her, she is beautiful and they became closer as the show progressed. The interview was given before the final and had nothing to do with Leon's victory.
